Evena wore a simple baby blue dress that reached to her calves with a saggy blue ribbon around the waist. She dried her hair and plaited it. Evena walked out of the room and was about to go downstairs before she decided against it. She turned around and went to Jay's room at the end of the hall. She cautiously opened the door, no one was inside but the door was slightly ajar to the attached bathroom and the light was on and there was the sound of a shower. Evena, feeling tired walked over to the bed and laid down in it.
It smelt of Jay, wood chips and pine trees. Evena pulled the blue quilt over her and closed her eyes. She just closed her eyes, she didn't want to sleep. She heard the bathroom door open and a long pause. Then some shuffling around as doors closed and opened and so did drawers. She heard a door open and a long pause. Evena decided it was around 10 minutes before he came back. Evena wrinkled her brow in confusion. She smelt lasagna. Delicious meaty lasagna.
Jay gently tapped her shoulder to wake her up but Evena refused. She heard him walk around to the other side of the bed. Suddenly she felt a huge jolt and the mattress vibrate violently. It shook so much Evena let out a yelp and a gasp before she fell on to the floor on top of the quilt on her back. All the wind had been knocked out of her lungs. Then it hit her. "JAY! YOU IDIOT!" she screamed and she heard a chuckle in response. "Ugh!" she groaned and with much effort got up. Jay froze at her sight but then continued laughing. Evena hauled a pillow at him but he dodged. "Wait until i get my hands on your neck!" she raged, with a tint of humour in her voice.
Jay mocked a scared expression and said, "Oh have mercy upon me fair Evena!" then he continued chuckling. Evena stood on the bed and Jay stopped laughing as she jumped on to him. He looked frightened but then caught her as they crashed in to the wall. Evena got out of the embrace and laughed at his expression. She smirked as he frowned. But laughter was in both their eyes. And something more.
