Evena flung open the door and caught her mother by surprise. She was no longer in fairy form but human form, and her meek scared side was gone for now. Her mother glared at her and got up, but Evena didn't flinch.
"What are you drinking?" Evena indicated the black mug with thick red liquid in it. Her mother's face was complete shock and she froze before recovering. "What are you asking?" she said icily, and slowly. Evena refused to be scared though her insides shook. "A question," she retorted with the same tone. Her mother's eyes narrowed, "This is my house, and you are under my care, don't you dare speak like that to me," Her mother took a step forward. "I am speaking to you like you spoke to me all these years since dad died," Evena hissed, this was the first time she had spoken back to her mother.
Her mother raised her hand and brought it down. But Evena angrily caught it before it collided with her face. "No, i know mother, you killed, him!!" Evena pushed her mother's hand away with such force her mother stumbled back, hitting the table and watching in fright and shock as the contents in the mug spilled out. Her eyes were no longer steel, but vulnerability. "I didn't kill anyone!" her mother exclaimed pathetically. Evena rolled her eyes, "Your a vampire it's what you do," she stated matter of factly.
Her mother looked at her with shock before retreating, something she hadn't done ever since her husband had died, or been killed. "I am," she confirmed and Evena felt chills running up and down her spine and her legs felt like Jelly-O. "I didn't think you were," she whispered. "Who told you?" her mother demanded, pointing at her sharply, but inside she knew she had lost. "Cherry," Evena said and her mother's eyes grew wide.
"You know her, don't you?" Evena challenged, taking a step forward. "Yes, yes i do Evena," her mother replied. Using her name for the first time.
