Josh was the tipical emo boy who refused to talk to anyone in the class. He had had enough of people and decided that the best company he could have was his own, or his favourite artists through his headphones, or earphones.

He always rushed out of the class-room whenever a lesson ended and went straight to the next one so he could take a seat and block out the world with his music.

There wasn't anything that he hated more than Halloween.  He thought that it sucked and people were making fun of the dead. That's why he hated it more than anything. Not even people. And it was just around the corner for his aggravation.

The whole school was decorated with different kinds of 'scary things' that he found pathetic, like plastic spiders, pumpkins, blow-up skeletons, etc.

The day when our story takes part, was the last day before the autumn break. Four days till Halloween. There was a big sign on the wall counting the upcoming holiday down.

Great. Josh thought climbing up the stairs to the second floor where his next period was about to start.

He had his hood up as he reached the top when a guy brushed his shoulder. He snapped his head towards him, ready to tell him to 'watch it', but then he recognised the boy and kept going instead.

It was Simon from Chemistry, Maths, and Literature class. A tall blonde boy who was the exact opposite of Josh. He loved people along with pastel colours and every holiday ever. He often stared at the brunette from afar, since he couldn't understand how could someone hate everybody. Or at least that's the reason what he'd told his friends when they started joking about him liking what he was seeing.

He watched as Josh slipped into the class-room with,  himself having a slight blush on his face. He shook it off and continued with his life, meaning he had the same class as him, hence he followed him.

Josh sat in the very back of the room, his head hanging low, pretending to read as his earphones were already in his ears.

Simon queitly took a seat in front of him and decided to finally talk to him. He turned around and tapped his shoulder smiling.

Josh slowly looked up at him from his paper and silently asked, without removing his beloved earphones. "What do you need?"

He can talk. And has a nice voice. Simon thought, his grin growing wider.

"Are you coming to the school's Halloween party tonight?"

Josh raised an eyebrow at him and shook his head. "Not in a million years."

"Oh. Well, you should." The blonde stated, earning furrowed eyebrows looking back at him.

"Why? It's stupid." He mumbled closing his notebook.

"It's not. You'd enjoy the amount of darkness that's there." He smiled trying to keep the converstation going.

"Very funny." Josh remarked sarcastically then turned the volume of his music up. "Anything else?"

Simon slightly shook his head, giving up on trying to make him talk and turned back around.

When the school day finally ended, Josh hurried home so he could flop down on his bed and start doing what he loved the most. Gaming.
He turned on his PC and immediately started up Call of Duty.
