Vampire Princess

Chapter 8: Whiterun

We all woke up the next morning, except me. I was still in the tent sleeping, since I went out exploring in the middle of the night. Jerome was the first to get up, so he started the fire. The other boys got up next, then Lilly woke up. She stayed in the tent for a bit to brush her hair, then she went out to the fire. Lilly got some eggs out of the little cooler bag we brought and started to cook them in a pan over the fire.

Once the eggs were ready Nathan came into the girls tent and woke me up slowly.

"Hey sleepy head, breakfast is ready" Nathan said trying to wake me up.

"It's morning already?" I said quietly.

"Yep. Now cmon get some breakfast."

"Ok one sec"

"Ok. I'll meet you outside then" he went outside the tent and then peeked his head out a little. "Then maybe you can tell me why you were searching around last night" he said as he winked at me.

"How did you know?"

"I heard you get up."

"Fine, I'll tell you once we set foot again."

I got up and went out the tent to eat some breakfast. Once we all ate, we packed up right away. Once we were all packed up, we headed out. According to Mathew we would be at the castle by sunset.

"So what happened last night?" Nathan asked me.

"I heard a noise again, like the one I heard when I was in the forest back in Parkview. I went to go check it out and I flew around for a bit. I couldn't find anything, but I still heard the noise. Once I got back to the tents, the sound completely went away, like it's scared of others."

"Well if you here it again, tell me and we'll check it out together"

We kept walking to the castle and stopped around noon at a little village called, Whiterun. We stopped by to see what was there, since we still had a few more hours. We walked around town and looked at all the different stores. Whiterun was filled with vampires. There were no humans to be seen. As we walked around people kept bowing down in front of me and saying, "hello princess." One girl came up to me and once she saw my face, she hugged me. Of course I had to hug her back so I got down a little and hugged her.

"Hello there. What's your name?" I said softly.

"I'm Bella. It's awesome to meet you princess." She said smiling.

"I'm glad to meet you to." I looked at the grass and there was a perfect pink flower. I picked it out of the ground and put it in Bella's long silky brown hair. "There you go, it's perfect" I said smiling back at her.

"I love it"

"Bella, time to go" her mother said as she came up behind her.

"Ok mommy"

"Hello princess. I see you've met Bella"

"Yes and she's a cutie" I said standing up.

"Well we better get going." She said "Daddy's waiting for us back home" she said looking at Bella.

"We better go to" Nathan said behind me.

"Bye bye princess" Bella said as I was walking away.

I turned back around and waved to Bella. Once we got to the gate I was behind everyone and suddenly I fell to the ground. Jerome turned around and saw me. The others were walking and he quickly ran towards me. He called out to the others and they came back. I was passed out in Jerome's lap. Someone came over and checked on me. It was Brandon.

"Is she ok? I saw her faint, so I came to see what happened" Brandon said.

"She will be fine." Nathan said.

"Are you sure? Do you want me to help or anything?"

"We're fine"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes!" Nathan yelled a little.

Hearing Nathan yell made me wake up a little bit. I turned my head a little to the right while I was still in Jerome's lap.

"We'd better go if we're going to make it there by sunset" Mathew said.

"May I ask where you're going?" Brandon said.

"No where you need to know" Nathan said.

Jerome got up and carried me in his arms. We all went out the gates of Whiterun and we headed towards the castle, leaving Brandon standing in front of the gate. He didn't like the fact that we left him, so a little while after we were gone he started to follow us. Staying out of sight Brandon kept following. I finally woke up after half an hour and was walking on my two feet again. I was still behind the others, but the shadow wasn't moving at all.

We kept walking and Brandon kept following. I was falling behind, but I stayed in sight. Suddenly a hand came around my head and covered my mouth. I tried to scream, but I couldn't. The hand dragged me into the forest and I couldn't see the others anymore. The hand let go and I turned around.

"Brandon!" I screamed.

"Shut up, or Alanna will hear you" he said.

"Why did you drag me like that?"

"To keep you safe"

"From what?"

"Alanna was near your little group. She's been following you since Whiterun."

"And you haven't?"

"Yes I have, to protect you from Alanna. Now cmon, lets get you somewhere safe"

He held his hand out and I took it. He lead me to a cobblestone tower just ten kilometres from where we started. I tried to open the door, but it was locked. Brandon got a key out of his pocket and unlocked the door. We went up a set of stairs and we were in a room with lots of painting on the wall. On the right there was a couch with a tv and on the left there was a cell with iron bars and no window.

"Why is there a cell over there?" I asked Brandon.

"Well come over here and I'll tell you" he said as we walked over to the cell. "So what this cell is used for is, it keeps certain vampires locked up" he went behind me quickly and pushed me into the cell. I was on the ground while he closed the door and locked it.

I got up and went to the door. "What did you do Brandon? I trusted you to take me somewhere safe. This isn't safe, it's a jail cell.

"The little princess is right, this isn't a safe place" A voice came through the darkness. I squinted to see who it was, but I couldn't see.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"I'm the person who's going to make you suffer. I will take the shadow and make it control you whenever I want to do so."

"You won't make it. Nathan will see I'm missing and come for me."

"No dear, when Brandon captured you, he made a hologram out of magic, so your friends won't know you're missing."

"Who are you!" I yelled.

"I already told you, I'm the person who will make you suffer" the person came out of the darkness.

"Alanna!" I gasped.

"Yes, it's me. I guess your daddy was right, I would do anything in my power to stop you from getting that amulet. Now for the shadow."

She brought her hand up and used magic on the shadow to turn me. I didn't turn into the shadow, but instead my blue eyes turned into navy blue and my hair turned black. I turned dark.
