Chapter 30: I have mood eyes

I woke up the next morning with my head on Nathan's chest. We slept on the couch the whole night after we came home from training. I got up off the couch and left Nathan sleeping. I went to the kitchen to make some breakfast.

I got the eggs out of the fridge and a frying pan out of the cupboard. I turned on the stove and put the frying pan over top. The cracked the eggs over the sink and put them in the pan.

It took a bit, but I made fried eggs and put them on the table. I then went to the living room and sat beside Nathan.

"Hey sleepy head" I said with a quiet voice. He mumbled in his sleep, I couldn't make out what he said.

He woke up slowly and looked at me. I was sitting beside him. He leaned over to me and planted a kiss on my lips. As he kissed me, my eyes turned light pink.

"There's your eyes again. They're pink" He smiled.

"I actually have no idea how they change colour. When I was practicing, I got a white orb and then I got mad, so I lost control and it flew into my face. I couldn't see for a few seconds. All I could see was white light." I explained. "Cmon, I have breakfast on the table."

We went to the kitchen and sat at the table. As we were eating someone came through the door and into the kitchen. He stood behind Nathan. I looked up and I screamed a little. Nathan turned around and saw Sam standing there.

"What is wrong with you?" I asked. "You can't just waltz into peoples houses"

"I'm sorry, but I needed to talk to you." Sam apologized.

I pointed to the living room. "Go sit and wait then"

"As you wish, princess."

"Ugh." I said going back to eating my eggs.

Nathan and I finished and went back out to the living room. We sat on the couch and Sam started talking.

"So, I've figured out why your eyes change colour." He started. I was all ears. "When the white orb hit your face, that's when it happened. You have mood eyes, which change colour with your emotions."

"That's awesome!" I exclaimed. "Wait a minute. I know something that could distract Alanna long enough for me to kill her." Nathan and Sam were listening. "Sam, you can cast the white orb, right?" I asked. He nodded. "Good. Because, when I hit my face with it, all I could see was a white light for around thirty seconds."

"That's perfect." Nathan said.

"Yes. Very good plan, Jasmine." Sam smiled at me. "Now, time for some more training."

"But I got the orb last night. Why do I need more training?"

"You only got it because your boyfriend was in danger. You need to get it without anything to use it for. Plus you need more training because Alanna is going to attack tomorrow."

I had completely forgot about Alanna. I hadn't realized she was going to attack tomorrow. My eyes turned yellow, I was getting a little nervous. I asked Sam if I could find and talk to someone first. He nodded and I went straight to Nick's territory.

I walked around calling out, "Nick!." I walked around a bit longer and I almost gave up looking for him. I went to a tree and flew up to a low branch. I leaned my back against the tree trunk and let my right foot dangle.

I waited for I don't know what, for around five minutes. I was about to fall asleep, when I heard someone call my name. I flew back down and flew around through the trees, following the voice. I came to a certain tree and Nick was chained to it, with a silver chain. You see, when werewolves encounter silver, they are harmed badly, sort of like a third degree burn.

"Nick!" I ran over to him. He was chained at his waist. I didn't have my dagger to cut the chain. Instead I used my magic to conjure a silver sword. I raised it above my head and struck the chain. It came right off and Nick was burned badly. He moaned in pain.

"Are you ok!?" I asked. My eyes turned light blue. "Who did this to you!?" I cried out.

"Yeah, I-I'll be fine." He said in pain.

"No! You're not ok!" I said.

My brain triggered memory of back in the woods, when Nathan healed my ankle. I then went back to Nick and held out my hands. I didn't touch him, but I put a healing spell on him. He healed in an instant. I went up to him and hugged him.

"Alanna did this to me, by the way."

"I have a plan to get rid of her" I said.

"Oh yeah? Tell me"

I described my plan to him and I asked if he and his pack would help us fight. He said he would get his pack to fight. I thanked him and went back to the forest clearing at Parkview.

I found Sam waiting for me in the clearing. We started practicing right away. It took a few tries, but I got the aqua orb again. I kept getting it and Sam said I was ready. I was so happy my eyes turned lime green. I released my full power. I was ready for tomorrow.
