Chapter 11: The Blood Amulet

Present day

"Hello?" I said to a shadow. "Who are you?"

"You're worst nightmare" The shadow came after me.

I started to run while I was screaming. I kept running and running until I woke up screaming in my room, which was in the tower. I was panting in my bed for two minutes, then I went to the kitchen to get something to eat. After I ate I got something for the prisoners.

"Here eat up" I said to them.

"Does it have poison in it?" Mathew asked.

"No. It doesn't have anything harmful in it."

I gave them the food and they ate it. Alanna came downstairs and got some food for herself.

"So what's the plan for today?" I asked.

"Well you are going to retrieve the blood amulet and keep it so they don't get ahold of it" Alanna said.

"Good. I will be on my way once I get ready."

I went back into my room and my phone started buzzing. It was my mom calling me. I picked up my phone off of the dresser and answered it.

"Hello?" I said.

"Jasmine! You're alright. You should be home by now, what's taking so long?"

"Sorry mother, but I've got other plans"

"What plans exactly?"

"They're 'special' plans that must be kept a secret. Now goodbye I have stuff to do"

"Jasmine wai-" I turned off my phone.

I went back to my dresser to brush my black hair. Then I went to my closet to put on a black skirt with navy blue tights and a navy blue t-shirt. I put on my black boots and headed outside. I jumped out my window, like usual whenever I want to go outside, and headed for the castle. I blasted anything that got in my way and before I knew it, I was at the castle. I retrieved the amulet from the throne room and headed back to the tower.

Nathan's POV

I woke up still in the cell, in the tower. Jasmine came downstairs and gave us something to eat. I wasn't hungry so I pushed it away. Once she went back upstairs I started practicing my magic.

"What are you doing Nathan?" Lilly asked me.

"Practicing" I said trying to concentrate.

"Practicing what?"

"A spell to turn Jasmine back to good"

"Are you close to getting it?"

"I will be if you stop talking" I said being serious.

"Oh sorry"

I kept practicing and I finally got it. I could cast a spell that could make Jasmine turn back to good. I just had to wait until she got back.

It was an hour later and she finally came up the stairs, but she had something in her hands. I looked closely, but I couldn't see what it was.

"Jasmine!" I yelled at her.

She turned around to look at me "hmm? What do you want prisoner?"

"I have a name you know."

"Whatever" She said heading up the stairs. "I'll be just a second, I've got to give something to Alanna." She held out the amulet. "You probably already know what this is. You tried to get it before you found out I was gone. Shame, you should've took it before you looked for me"

"Jasmine wait!" I yelled, but she was already up the stairs.

She came back downstairs and her hand was empty. She gave the amulet to Alanna.

"So what did you want me for?" She asked.

"You need to come back to us" I put my hand up and cast the spell.

First I cast a freezing spell so she couldn't run, then I cast the shadow spell.

"Wh-what a-are y-you do-doing?" She said trembling.

"Turning you good!" I kept up the spell.

I kept the spell going, until Alanna came down the stairs and saw what I was doing. She held up the amulet and cast the shadow out of Jasmine.

"Is that what you wanted to do?" Alanna said behind Jasmine. She went up beside her and unfroze her.

"Jasi! You're back!" Lilly said running to the cell door.

"Who says I'm back? I never left" She said. Her hair was still black and eyes still navy.

"She's still evil Lilly" Jerome said coming up to the door. "Alanna cast the shadow out of her with the amulet sure, but Alanna is evil so that makes Jasmine still dark. For her to turn back to good, one of us needed to use the amulet."

"What! No!" Lilly said shedding a tear. "So does that mean we can't get her back?"

"I'm afraid so" Jerome said putting an arm on Lilly's shoulder.

"No." Lilly put her head on Jerome's chest and started to cry as Jerome put his arms around her.

"There is one way we can get her back" Mathew said from behind.

"How?" I asked.

"True love. It can break any curse"
