Vampire Princess

Chapter 2: A Vampire?

"Welcome back Princess!" everyone yelled as I walked through the door.

"Hi everyone!" I exclaimed.

"Well time to get this party started!" Someone's voice said as they came up behind me.

I turned around, "Lilly!" we hugged each other. "I'm so glad to see you!"

"You to Jasi!"

The party started and I was talking to Lilly catching up on everything. Then I was talking to Roxanne, then Ashley then suddenly someone came through the door. I turned around and the person wasn't there I turned back around to talk to Ashley and I let out a little screech.

"Nathan!" I scolded him a little.

"What?" he asked laughing.

"Nothing" I said as my Grandma put on Nathan and my favourite song.

"Wanna dance princess?" he asked me.

"Sure" I said blushing a little.

We went to the dance floor, which was the living room, and started to dance.

"You look very pretty tonight Jasmine."

"Aw thanks. Nathan, can I ask you something?" I asked.

"You just did" he said jokingly.

"You know what I mean" I said as I stuck my tongue out at him.

"Yea I know, so what's your question?"

"Why does everyone call me princess?"

"Because you are a princess."

"I am?"

"Yea you're the vampire princess and your parents are the vampire king and queen"

"What?" I was getting confused

"How old are you Jasmine?"

"I'm only 19"

"How old are you parents?"

"They're 29"

"No, they're 290. You see, you were always a vampire. You were born being one. You age until you get to the age of 18. That's why your parents look the same age as you."

"What!? So wait is everyone here a vampire?"

"Everyone except your grandparents. You see if you're a vampire and you get bit by a werewolf then you go back to being a normal human being. if you do get bit you do have the choice to go back to being a vampire or you could stay a human."

"I'm sorry none of this is making sense" I said as I walked out the door and went back to our house next door.

"Wait Jasmine!"

I walked over and Nathan ran to me using his vampire speed. He got in front of me and stopped me.

"Come on Jasmine, go enjoy the party and then you can figure this out after. I just want you to be happy and have fun at your welcome back party. Beside we're having cake in a bit."

"Ok I'll come back. Wait, I thought vampires only drink blood."

"Nope that's the stereotype vampire."

We walked back to my grandparents house and my grandpa said, "alright all you vampires, time to have some cake!"

The party was over and everyone went home. We got home and I immediately turned to my parents.

"Why didn't you tell me" I said in a little deep voice.

"What do you mean sweetie?" My mom asked.

"I mean why didn't you tell me I was the vampire princess!" I yelled at them a little.

My mom and dad exchanged looks.

"Oh Jasmine, we were going to tell you-"

"When, when were you going to tell me? When I'm 150 years old and I haven't aged?"

They exchanged looks again.

"Whatever" I said as I went to my room.

I pretended to sleep while I waited for my parents to go to sleep. Once they were asleep I went downstairs quietly. I put on my runners and went out the front door quietly.

I went to the middle of the road. I wanted to test out if I really was a vampire by running as fast as vampires do. The street was long and it never had any cars on it at night time, I remembered from when we first lived here. I was ready so I started to run down the street. I was running so fast it was like the whole world was stopped. I really was a vampire, no human could ever run this fast. In less then a minute I was at the other end of the street, which was twenty kilometres from where I started, so I ran back to the house. I went inside quietly and took my shoes off. I thought I was safe and I wouldn't get caught by my parents, but as I went into the living room my dad was sitting on the couch waiting for me.

"Welcome back Jasmine. Did you have a good run?"

"Um yea." I said nervously.

"You do know that you can't leave the house without us hearing right?" he asked

"Wait you heard me?"

He sighed "Jasmine when you're a vampire you can hear people talking from 500 kilometres away when you want to."

"Oh cool!"

"Yep, now get back to bed"

"Ok daddy" I went over and hugged him goodnight.

"I love you" he said as I was walking to my room.

"Love you to daddy"
