"Mom! Dad!" I exclaimed running through the door.
"What's wrong sweetie?" My mom asked as if something had was happening.
"Nothing." I said. "I found Sapphire!"
"Sapphire. You're back!" My dad exclaimed getting up to hug her.
"Hi Justin, Natalie." She looked over at Nathan and Brandon. "Who are they?"
"You know Nathan, from when we were little. And this is Brandon. He's my brother" I explained.
"Nathan. Right I do remember him from younger." She said as the boys both woke up.
"Sapphire?" Nathan said with a crackly voice from just waking up.
"Hey Nathan" Sapphire said smiling.
"Sapphire! You're back!"
"You know what we need now" Brandon said sitting up on the couch. "A party. Jut like the one when you returned back to Parkview."
"I'll go tell your grandparents then"My dad said getting up from his chair still weak.
He went out the door and walked next door to grandma and grandpa's house. I looked at my mom. "Is he going to be alright?" I asked worried about him.
"That's what I'm worried about darling" My mom said worried as well.
My dad came back in the house. "The party is on. Everyone should be there by right tonight." He said smiling weakly.
"I'd better get home. My parents are probably still worried about me leaving after you moved to Springfield." Sapphire said.
She went out the door and left. Nathan got up off of the couch and wrapped his arms around my waist. "We should go somewhere" he said softly in my ear.
"Like where?" I asked.
"Let's walk around in the forest"
"Ok" I said turning my head towards him and smiling.
We went outside the door shortly after Sapphire left. We went towards the forest where I first encountered the shadow. We walked around and talked and ended up at the clearing. I went to the middle and Nathan wasn't with me anymore. I looked around and couldn't see him.
"Nathan? Where are you?"
"Boo!" He said floating upside down with his face parallel to mine.
I let out a scream. "Nathan you sc-" he put his lips on mine. We pulled apart and Nathan turned upright and landed back on his feet.
"So can you fly pretty good yet?"
"I don't know. I haven't flew since the shadow went inside me."
"Well then, let's test it out."
He held out his hand and I took it. He lifted off the ground then I did. We flew up above the trees and I was doing alright. We flew around Parkview being careful not to let the humans see us.
An hour went by and we went back to the clearing. We landed on the ground and on our feet.
"I think I got the hang of flying now!" I exclaimed.
"Yep you sure do. You went from falling a lot to being in the air the whole time"
He put his lips on mine and we went back to my house afterwards. We were about to go through the door when we heard someone scream.
"Did you hear that?" Nathan asked.
"Yea. It was my mom" I said wide eyed.
We went inside and saw my dad on the ground with my mom sitting beside him.
"What happened?" I asked concerned about my dad.
"I was in the kitchen making lunch for us two when I heard something thump onto the ground. I went to check it out and I found your father lying on the ground." Mom explained with a shaky voice.
"He's still breathing" Nathan said.
"Daddy? Can you hear me?" I said to him, but there was no response.
"Brandon, Nathan help me take him upstairs." Mom said.
They carried him upstairs to his bed and laid him on it. I went upstairs with them and stayed behind once they left.
"Daddy. I hope you can hear me. Please don't leave me. I still need you. I don't want to live a life without a father." I was starting to cry. "Please daddy. Don't leave me. I love you."
A hand touched my shoulder. "He'll be fine. I'm sure of it." Brandon said.
I got up and hugged Brandon. "What if he's not? What if he never wakes up?"
"I don't know" He put his head on mine.
**********
It was seven o'clock. I started to get ready. I went to my closet and picked out a bubblegum pink strapless dress. I put it on and got a pair of black flats. I went to the bathroom to straighten my hair. I was excited, I haven't seen my grandparents since before we left on the journey to find the blood amulet.
It was quarter to eight by the time I was ready. I went downstairs and found Brandon sitting on the couch.
"Hey beautiful. You look pretty." Brandon said. I smiled. "But your outfit isn't perfect."
"What's wrong with it?" I asked confused.
"You need this" He held out a necklace with a silver heart pendant. In the heart was the letters 'J', 'N', 'B' and another 'J' in a square form.
"What are the letters for?"
"So you never forget who your family is." He went behind me and connected the link. "Justin, Natalie, Brandon and Jasmine"
I put my hand on the heart and looked at it. "It's beautiful" I went to the mirror in the bathroom and looked at it more.
I looked up and I saw the black streak in my hair turn sky blue.
"What happened?" I asked.
"I guess the necklace has something special. Mom gave it to me to give to you."
"We'd better get going. Don't want to be late"
Brandon and I went out the door and headed outside. We went next door to our grandparents house and lots of vampires were there. Grandma and grandpa saw us and walked over towards us.
"Look at you. Who is that pretty girl?" Grandpa joked.
"Hi grandpa, hi grandma." I said smiling.
"Whose this handsome boy?" Grandma asked.
"This is-"
"Oh I know who he is" she cut me off. "He's your boyfriend. What a cute pick"
"What!? No!" I exclaimed. "Grandma, this is Brandon. My brother, not my boyfriend. Nathan is my boyfriend."
"Brandon? Can that really be you?" Grandpa asked.
"Yea it's me" Brandon said.
I looked around and saw Sapphire. "I'll leave you guys to get caught up"
I walked over and started talking to Sapphire.
