Chapter 10: The first time I meet Alanna

"Quick hide, they're coming" I instructed Alanna.

She went to a room up a set of stairs, while I was waiting at the top of the stairs. Before they came in the tower I cast a spell making a hologram of me inside the cell. Brandon came past the cell looking a little confused about what was going on.

"Brandon get away and hide. I have a trap set up" I yelled at him quietly.

He went up the stairs confused to the same room as Alanna. Soon enough Nathan and the others came in the room. They looked around and saw the hologram of me in the cell. They quickly ran to it and went through the open door. Once they went inside I quickly ran to close it, trapping them inside. I quickly went back up the stairs so they couldn't see me.

"What just happened!" Lilly exclaimed.

"Well you went after someone who was just a hologram" I said in the shadows.

"Who are you?" Jerome asked.

"You don't recognize me? How sad"

"Tell us who you are" Nathan demanded.

"You know who I am. I'm the reason you went on this 'quest' to find the blood amulet. I'm the reason you came to this tower" I stepped out of the shadows. They were all shocked at who I was and what I looked like, with my black hair and my navy eyes.

"Jasi?" Lilly said terrified.

I walked over to her. "Is little helpless Lilly going to cry" I said imitating her.

"Who did this to you?" She said still terrified.

"Come out you two" I yelled up the stairs. Alanna and Brandon came out of the room and walked down the stairs. "This is who changed me"

"Brandon?" Lilly said wide eyed. "But, I thought you were good."

"No sweetie, I was only pretending." Brandon said puting his finger on the bottom of Lilly's chin.

"I knew you were behind this Alanna. How was I so stupid to not realize" Mathew said banging his forehead with his palm.

"Oh don't worry dear, you're not the first" Alanna said laughing. "Now what to do with you pests" Alanna said as she paced back and forth trying to think.

"Jasmine come here for a second" Nathan said.

"Why?" I said suspiciously.

"Look I know the real Jasmine is in there. You're not dark. You're the sweetest person I know. You've got to fight this! Fight the shadow that's in you! I believe in you."

"Touching speech, but I'm way better being dark. I have the power to do anything, I love it." I said with an evil smile.

"That's not the Jasmine I used to know. Try to remember when we were kids. When you weren't dark and we had fun all the time."

12 Years ago

"Hahaha. Come on Jasmine you're so slow." Little Nathan said jokingly.

"So what, the park is right here anyway" I said sticking my tongue out at him.

"They get along so well don't they" My mom said to Nathan's mom, Melanie.

"Yes they do" Melanie said.

Nathan and I played on the playground. We played tag, then we played our game. Our game was we would both pretend we were vampires and we had to fight evil monsters that tried to hurt us.

"Guess what Nathan" I said.

"What?" He said.

"I just got a blue streak in my hair for my water powers" I said smiling.

"Yea well I got a red one right here for my fire powers" He pointed to a spot in his black hair.

"That looks good" I exclaimed. "Look out!" I said going and pushing Nathan out if the way so I could use my water power to destroy a monster (which was pretend). "That almost killed you!"

"Well good thing you were watching, otherwise I probably would have died" He said while we were both laughing. "Uh oh. Boss fight." He said pointing behind me.

I turned around and there was a monster about twice the size of us (which was still pretend). We both took our fighting stance and in two minutes, we destroyed the monster with our powers.

"Ow! I think the monster hurt my leg" I said pretending.

"Here let me help" Nathan said putting his hand over my leg pretending to use his healing power.

"Kids time for lunch" My mom said to us across the park.

"Coming" I said back.

Nathan and I went over to our moms and they had a blanket set out for a picnic. We all sat down and Nathan's mom got out sandwiches while my mom got out drinks for us. We ate faster than normal and went back on the park. We went up to the big slide, which I was always afraid to go down. Nathan went down first and I was too scared to go.

"Come on Jasmine" Nathan said.

"I-I can't. I'm scared." I said

"Don't worry, I'll catch you if you fall"

"O-ok."

I went down the slide screaming a little. I fell at the bottom but Nathan caught me just as he said.

"Look out!" I screamed pushing him out of the way.

There was a person who tried to grab Nathan and take him away, but she caught me instead. She picked me up and ran away with me in her arms. Nathan ran over to our moms.

"Mom, Natalie! Someone has Jasmine!" Nathan exclaimed.

"Where did they go?" My mom asked.

"She went that way" Nathan pointed to where the person was heading with me.

"Let me go!" I screamed.

"Shhh" She said putting her hand over my face.

She cast a sleeping spell and I was asleep in her arms while she carried me. My mom was running after her, but she disappeared with me into the forest. My mom was down on her knees crying, while Melanie came up and comforted her.

I woke up in a cell in a tower. I looked all around. I found a living room with a couch and a tv and a set of stairs. The person who captured me came to the cell and gave me a drink of milk.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"My name is Alanna" She said.

"Where am I?"

"You're somewhere safe."

"But... I want my mom and Nathan"

"You don't get it. They're the bad guys"

I yawned and fell asleep on the bed behind me. I slept through the whole night without waking up.
