Chapter 13: The Escape

I unlocked the door of the cell and held on to Nathan's hand. He then held on to Lilly's hand and then Jerome and Mathew. We were all invisible so we could escape easier. We were down the last flight if stairs until Alanna was at the cell yelling at Brandon.

"Brandon! Get down here NOW!" She yelled.

"Why?" Brandon yelled from upstairs.

"Just get down here!"

Brandon came down the stairs and saw the cell was empty. "What happened?"

"You should know. You were supposed to watch them" Alanna was angry.

"I-I'm sorry. I promise I'll do better"

"I know you will. But you must be punished" She held out her hand and had a spell which would shock him.

"No wait stop! Help!"

I heard Brandon screaming for help, but I couldn't just leave him. I had to help him. "Guys. I need to help Brandon"

"We need to keep moving. Brandon isn't good. He can deal with Alanna on his own" Mathew said. But I just ignored him and let go of Nathan's hand.

"Jasmine wait!" Nathan yelled at me.

"Just hide somewhere. You're not invisible anymore" I yelled back.

I went upstairs to where the cell was and I saw Brandon in the cell. I still had the keys so I went over and unlocked the door. Luckily Alanna wasn't there, so I could get him without her noticing.

"Brandon" I said.

"Whose there?" he asked.

I remembered I was invisible so I cast a spell and I was visible again. "It's me"

"Jasmine? Is it really you. I haven't seen you since before you turned dark."

"Nathan changed me back. Do you want to come with us and escape Alanna?"

"I-I can't"

"Why not?"

"I can't leave my mother"

I was shocked. "Wait Alanna's your mom?!"

"Yes. I'm sorry I didn't tell you before. I was scared to admit it"

"I get that. Whatever, if you want to stay, then stay, but if you want to come with us, you have two minutes to tell me."

"I'll go with you. I can't stay anymore. My mom had gone crazy. I can't take it."

"Take my hand then"

He held on to my hand and I cast the invisibility spell again. We went downstairs together where we met up with the others. Mathew was a little upset with me going and rescuing Brandon, but he didn't complain.

I held on to Nathan's hand again and we were out of the tower, out of Alanna's sight. I let go and cast the spell to make me visible again. We made our journey back to Parkview and this time we used our speed.

"Mom, Dad!" I ran up and hugged them as soon as I got in the door.

"Oh Jasmine. We missed you so much. What happened? You were gone for a week" my dad said.

"I turned dark" I said ashamed.

"Oh hunny. You're alright now. We won't let you turn dark ever again." My mom said.

"Maybe, but maybe not forever" I lifted the black streak in my blonde hair.

They knew what it meant, but they didn't really care at that moment. All they cared about was keeping me safe from Alanna.

It was turning night and the others went back to their houses. Lilly stayed over at my house for the night, so we could have a girls night. We also invited Roxanne and Ashley to come over and they came after they spent a little time with their boyfriends. Roxanne with Mathew and Ashley with Jerome.

We started the night with a few games. We played truth or dare first and Roxanne was the first to be asked "truth or dare"

"I choose truth" Roxanne said.

"Well, how many boyfriends did you have before you started to date my brother? And what where their names?" Lilly asked.

"I actually had three. The first one was named, Nick. Second was Bradley. And the third one was Jordan." She replied.

"Jasmine," Ashley started to say. "Truth or dare?"

"I'll have to go with dare" I smiled.

"I dare you to call Nathan on your cell and scream into the phone, the hang up" Roxanne said.

"Oh my gosh. Do I have to?" I joked.

I picked up my phone and dialled Nathan's number. When he picked up and said "hello?" I screamed, then hung up.

"Now how am I going to explain that to him" I said sticking my tongue out.

We kept playing truth or dare, then we played a bunch of board games. When it was midnight we got out the chips and sat on the couch watching twilight for fun.

As we were watching there was a knock at the door.

"Are you expecting someone else?" Ashely asked.

"No..." I said confused.

I got up and went to the door. As I opened it Brandon was standing there.

"Brandon?" He turned around and it was him. "What are you doing here?"

"To warn you about something" He said.

I looked back to see if the girls were watching, then I stepped outside and closed the screen door. "What is it?" I asked.

"It's Alanna. She said you have a month to give up the throne or she will raise an army with the amulet to destroy you"

"Shoot! I forgot she had that. What are we going to do then?"

"Whose this?" Ashley said coming up behind me. "He's cute" she whispered to me.

"You have a boyfriend Ashley" I whispered back. "This is Brandon. He captured me at first, then I saw good in him, so I brought him back"

"Wait, he captured you?" I nodded and she slapped his face. "That was for what you did." And she went back inside.

"Look can we talk about this tomorrow with my parents? I'm having a girls night and I don't want to have to worry about anything right now"

"Yes of course. I'll be back tomorrow at noon"

"Ok" I went back inside and he left. I closed the door and went back to sit on the couch and watch twilight.

"He's still cute" Ashley whispered to me again.
