Chapter 18: Friend and Family gathering

Jasmine's POV

The first place we went to was Lilly's house. I knocked on the door and Lilly answered.

She looked at me, but didn't realize who I was at first because I was supposed to be in Springfield. "Jasi?" She realized who I was. "Jasi!" She hugged me and I hugged her back. "But you're supposed to be back in Springfield."

"I know. I bailed out on the plane."

"Who's this?" She asked looking at Brandon behind me.

"This." I brought him up beside me. "Is my brother." I hugged him.

"That's awesome. Here come in."

We went inside and talked in the living room. There was a knock at the door and Lilly answered it again. Seconds later Roxanne, Ashley and Jerome walked into the living room.

"So everyone is here, but where's Mathew?" Nathan asked.

Lilly started to shed a tear and Jerome comforted her. "He got carried away by the shadow with Alanna" Jerome explained.

"So Alanna was here" Brandon said. "We saw the park in ruins"

"Yes she was here, but we survived" Ashley said sitting next to Brandon.

I leaned over and whispered in Ashely's ear, "aren't you and Jerome dating?"

She whispered back, "no we broke up before you were supposed to leave for Springfield."

"Was it just you who were fighting?" I asked.

"No." Roxanne said.

I knew what she was talking about. My parents were fighting to. I looked over at Brandon. "Brandon... I have to see them" I looked over to Roxanne. "Are they hurt?"

"Your dad sprained his wrist but that's it."

"Brandon?"

He sighed as I looked at him with puppy eyes. "Fine. We go after lunch"

"Yay! You're the best brother ever" I went behind and hugged him around his neck.

I rang the door bell and mom answered the door. I was standing with Brandon and Nathan. Nathan was so he could explain what happened to dad.

"Hi mom" I said with a quiet voice.

"Jasmine!" She came out the door and hugged me. "Brandon!" She hugged him as well.

"Are you ok mom?" I asked.

"I thought you were in Springfield. Why aren't you there?"

"We bailed out on the plane." Nathan explained.

"But you had your suitcases"

"They were empty and not even ours. We got the from grandma and grandpa" I said.

"How's dad?" Brandon asked.

"Weak. Still recovering from using that much magic to fight Alanna. He also has a sprained wrist." Mom explained.

"Will he be mad if he sees we didn't actually go on the plane?" I asked quietly.

"He might be a little bit, but he can't turn into his monster. He's too weak"

We went inside and dad was sitting on his chair in the living room.

"Justin. Don't get mad, but they bailed out before they got on the plane back to Springfield." Mom told dad softly.

"Hi daddy" I said quietly.

"Hi sweetheart" he said back quietly. "I hear you bailed out of the plane ride."

"I'm sorry, but I couldn't leave the humans to die. I had to do something. You treat me like a kid, but I'm not. You cant protect me anymore. I may be your princess, and I know you're still paranoid about Alanna capturing me when I was little, but I'm not a little kid anymore. You need to understand that!"

"I know. And I'm sorry I thought you weren't strong enough, but trust me, you are the strongest vampire princess ever. Even I'm not that strong. Which is why you need to kill Alanna"

"But- but she'll turn me dark again! Do you not see this streak in my hair?" I held up the black streak of hair. "This is proof that she can still turn me. I cant fight her alone! I-I'm not ready!"

"Calm down Jasmine. You won't be fighting her alone. We'll we always be there fighting with you."

"What if you're not? Then what do I do?"

"You keep fighting. No matter how hard it is, keep fighting." Nathan said to me. "We have a week left."

I sat down on the couch and we watched movies on the tv. Nathan sat down beside me and put his arm around me as I snuggled with him. We stayed in our house for tonight and Nathan carried me up to my room, since I fell asleep. Brandon stayed downstairs in the living room and slept on the couch, while my parents went to their room. Nathan went back downstairs and slept in dad's chair.

I woke up and I was the first. I went downstairs and the boys were still asleep. I smiled seeing them. I went outside on the deck in our backyard still in my duckling pyjamas and a pale yellow tank top. I sat on the chair and looked around. It still amazed me no matter how many times I saw it. I could see most of the human part if Parkview.
