Chapter 29: Training

"So the first thing you need is focus." Sam said.

I nodded and put my hands in a way like I was holding an invisible ball. I kept focusing on my powerful inner energy. Sam said it if I got it right, it should turn out to be an aqua coloured ball if energy. It took a long time, but I finally got a small energy ball floating between my hands.

"I got it!" I exclaimed.

"Yes, but. That's a yellow orb. Not aqua."

I sighed and kept trying and trying. I got lots of colours like blue, green, purple, and orange, but not aqua. I had a white orb in my hand and I was getting a little mad. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I was mad and the white orb changed to blood red. I was frustrated at that, I lost control of it and it flew into my face.

"Ahh!" I said as it flew into my face and I landed on the ground.

I couldn't see for a few seconds. All I saw was a white light. Sam came over to me.

"Are you alright?"

"Yea" I said still seeing white. I sighed. "No. I'm not alright. Why can't I get this?"

I could finally see again. I was still mad and Sam pointed out that my eyes had turned red. I tried to calm down and the. He pointed out that they turned back to my usual blue colour. I got up and tried again. I got another orb, but it was the same yellow orb as last time.

"Can we take a break?" I asked.

"Fine. One hour and be back here ready."

I ran off through the woods back to the house. I found Nathan and Brandon sitting on the couch watching "World War Z". I went over and sat beside Nathan. He put his arm around me and I looked up at him. He looked at me and my eyes turned a light pink.

"What's up with your eyes?" He asked.

"What's wrong with them?" I asked.

"They're pink. It's cute though."

I smiled at him and remembered how my eyes turned red when I was training. As the boys were watching their movie, I fell asleep in Nathan's arms.

About an hour and a half went by and the movie was over (they had started it before I came). I was still asleep and Nathan was still on the couch with me, asleep as well. Brandon went up to the guest bedroom, which is now his for the rest of summer. I had my head on Nathan's chest and he rested his head on mine. We look so cute sleeping together on the couch.

Sam came in and saw us sleeping. He woke us up by yelling, "Jasmine! Up now!" We both woke up in shock. "It's been two hours."

I looked at Sam a little scared. My eyes turned orange. Sam took me back to the clearing and Nathan came with us. I kept practicing and I still couldn't get the aqua coloured orb.

Another three hours went by and it was 4:30. We were practicing all day. I was getting a little mad and I think Sam was getting a little annoyed. Since I was mad, my eyes turned red again. I was also annoyed as well, so my left eye was red and my right eye was purple.

"Jasmine" Sam said coming over to me. "You need to calm down and focus."

"That's the problem. I can't!"

He tried to think of a way he could get me to focus and he looked at Nathan. He looked back at me and smiled.

I opened my mouth to say something. "No, no, no, no" I said quickly. "You are not going to hurt him." I said almost whining.

"I'm sorry if I'm being mean" Sam apologized.

He went over to Nathan quickly with his vampire speed and held a dagger to his neck. I screamed and was almost crying. My eyes turned a light blue. I couldn't bare seeing Sam almost kill Nathan. I put my hands back in position and focused my energy. I kept looking over at Nathan to make sure he was ok. I looked back at my hands and focused.

After two minutes I had it. There was an aqua coloured orb floating between my hands. I was to sad to see Nathan almost getting killed that I wasn't excited about finally getting it right. I quickly threw the orb like a baseball and controlled which way it went with my right hand.

I controlled it around Nathan and towards Sam. I didn't want to kill Sam, so I tapped him lightly with the orb. Just enough to get him away from Nathan. He fell to the ground and I ran over to Nathan to hug him.

"You did it" He said smiling at me.

"I don't care. Are you ok?" My eyes were light blue from being sad. I looked at Sam on the ground. He got up. "Why would you almost kill Nathan" I got mad and my eyes turned red.

"So you would have something to focus your powerful inner energy. I knew you loved him, so that's why I almost killed him."

"Even if I didn't get the orb, would you have killed him?"

"No, I would never do that to someone who has a lover. I couldn't live with myself if I did."

I calmed down and my eyes turned back to my blue. Sam noticed again and was kept trying to figure out why they kept changing colour. Sam went to the hotel in the human part and Nathan and I went back to my place.
