Chapter 16: The 'sorry'

Serena's POV

For the whole day, I didn't care about Ash. I could see at times, he tried to say something but he couldn't. And somehow, I seem to concentrate better today. Maybe, if I haven't dated anyone previously, and let them bother my mind, I could have done well for my Maths.

The bell rang to signify the end of class...

''Alright class, please do remember that there won't be school tomorrow because of the pokemon showcase'' Professor Sycamore's voice rang out and people began shuffling out of class. Pokemon showcase.... Oh No! I haven't been practicing much since I was too engrossed in my studies. I went to the empty field before the dormitory block immediately after class and started practicing with my pokemon.

After a few hours...

''Alright Braixen, finish off with fire blast. Sylveon use moon blast and pancham, use stone edge!''

The pokemons ended their moves gracefully and walks to me.

''Yeah guys! If we keep up, I will be Kalos queen already!'' 

''Braix!''

''Veon!''

''Cham!''

''Alright, now return!'' *The pokemons return*

I walk over to the bench to pick up my bag. It was only then when I realised that there was a packet of food on the bench. I picked it up and saw a note over it.

I know you haven't had lunch, so I bought you something to eat. It's your favorite.

-Ash

I looked at the note. Then to the food. I really wanted to throw the food away but I couldn't resist to throw away since it was nice smelling. In the end, I succumb to my needs and opened the cover of the food container. It was spaghetti. Well, I can't deny it. Spaghetti is definitely my favorite. In 2 minutes, I finished the food. I then looked up at the sunset. sigh.. If only Ash was here. Nono, he can't. I am not going to talk to him. But I can't get him out of my mind! 

''Serena?'' 

I looked up to see my step father. He took a seat next to me.

''Is something wrong?''

''N-no.''I gulped. If he knew that I had sort of 'dumped' Ash, he would beat the crap out of Ash and I don't want that to happen.

''Clearly there is something wrong''

''I-I am just nervous about tomorrow's showcase'' I lied and he bought it.

''Oh. Don't worry dear. I will support you and Ash will too!'' He chuckled. I mentally heaved a sigh of relieve. ''Speaking of Ash, where is he? Why is he not with you?''

''He erm... he... went to the mall with Gary''

He raised his eyebrows and stood up. I gulped. Is he going to...

''Well, I better get going! It's late already. Better go back to your dorms quick before Ash starts worrying.''

''Ok, I will dad!'' I stood up and scurried off to my dorms. 

Honestly speaking, I don't want to go back to my dorms because I don't want to talk to him just yet. But there's no choice. That's the only place to give me protection because there's Ash. Wait what? Ash? No! It can't be! Ugh! I can't get him out of my mind!

I entered my dorms but Ash wasn't back yet. His bag was in the dorms but he is no where to be seem. I actually expected to see him on the desk revising.  But I guess he doesn't have motivation for studying for today. I got a shower and got to bed. I guess... I'll just turn in early for today....
