"Alright, I went to the grocery store and picked up some pretty fattening food. You look like twig." I furrowed my brows and mentally calculated the maximum amount of hours needed to buy two bags of groceries. It didn't come anywhere near the seven hours that Hunter had spent out. "I might have also gotten a car wash, worked an extra shift at work and registered you for school." He quickly added when he say my confused expression.

"School?" I choked. I wasn't ready for school. What if someone recognized me and called the cops? Or worse, what if I become popular?

Hunter seemed to sense my worry. To be fair it was probably radiating off of me. "You'll be fine, don't worry so much, Alex." He reached out to touch my hand. I'm sure he doesn't think I noticed the slight pause he took before making physical contact.

After being with him for almost a week, we've grown much closer than when I had first stepped into the house. However, there were still somethings that felt a bit awkward and touching each other was one of those things.

Nonetheless, I put my hand over his to show him that I was okay with it. I still haven't told him who I am yet, and I'm starting to believe that I never will. I've been meaning to, but every time I'm about to tell him, I chicken out in the last minute. "I'll protect you, Alex, trust me." This startled me out of my thoughts. I scoffed at that.

"What?" He said with an amused smile playing on his lips. It wasn't that I didn't think he wasn't capable of protecting me, it was that I know that he isn't capable of protecting me from everyone. Despite being a football player and slightly muscular, he was a lean and tall guy. I have no doubt in my mind that there are more muscular people at school that could beat up Hunter.

It had begun to get late so I had started to head upstairs to bed when Hunter caught my wrist to take my phone from my other hand. Oh, did I mention that he bought me a phone? He had returned it to me on the alarm screen. There was one alarm turned on and it was labeled "school."

Ugh. School.
