Alex POV:
French class just ended. My stomach had been growling all throughout the period. So when the bell rang, signaling the end of second period and the beginning of lunch, I hurriedly gathered my things and ran towards the door. Unfortunately, in my haste to leave, my leg caught a desk leg and I face planted on the floor, my things sliding out in front of me. The teacher sneaked a glance at me and went back to her work, as if she didn't see me. Lucky enough as soon as I began to stand up, four kind hands began gathering my things for me. I got to my feet, brushing off my ripped skinny jeans, and holding my hands out to receive my things for the two people who had helped me.
"Thank you." I said, somehow sounding sarcastic.
"No problem." They both giggled at the same time. Weird. I took a look at the two girls who gathered my things. They looked nothing alike. One was tall and unhealthily skinny, with a bit of a tan. She had black glasses and black hair that flowed down to her lower back. She wore bright clothes, making her stand out.
The other girl was about my height, a bit shorter than the other girl. She didn't wear glasses like the other girl did, but she did have hair that covered the length of her back. Blond hair. "I'm Madeline Frackly, but if we're gonna be friends, you should call me Maddy." said the bond haired girl, extending her hand for a handshake. I was hesitant. I wasn't sure if I wanted to make friends and plant roots here until I was sure that I was staying. Although, I already had Hunter, who I had unintentionally put down a root with. I shook Maddy's hand. "Alex. Alex Jones." I think that was the name that Hunter had registered me with.
The taller girl extended her hand then said "Angelina. Angelina Tibson.", she was mocking my introduction. I blushed a bit, not realizing that I had introduced myself in an arrogant way. "But you can call me Angie." she said with a smile. I smiled back sheepishly, still not over my introduction.
--
Maddy, Angie, and I were eating at the table that they usually sit at. They had invited me to eat with them after we introduced ourselves. Besides the three of us, the table was vacant. It was like people were trying to avoid them, still, I didn't ask. I didn't want to lose my new friends on our first day of friendship.
We had been talking about how people came to know that milk was good for them, jokingly of course, when they suddenly stopped talking and stared at something that was behind me. Maddy began twirling her hair nervously around her finger and giggled a bit. Blondes. Angie simply sat staring with her mouth hung open a little bit. I was about to look behind me to see what was so fascinating when my question was answered by a voice I was hoping I wouldn't have to hear today. "Hey princess, I missed you." I heard in deep whisper. Tyler's voice was low enough that it wasn't audible to Maddy or Angie.
I was frozen in place, much like my new friends, and I was unable to answer. Tyler took my silence as an opportunity and plopped down in the seat beside me, attracting the attention of more than a few students sitting at nearby tables. Then, as if sitting next to me wasn't enough, he put his hand on top of mine underneath the table, shielding it from people's view.
A type of electricity ran through my body, more concentrated in my fingertips now that he was playing with them. My heart filled with a feeling that I couldn't describe, but it made me feel safe and wanted, a feeling I hadn't gotten a lot before. He glanced at me from the corner of his eye and a knowing smile slowly grew on his face. He knew the affect he had on me, and he was proud of himself for making me feel this way.
I blushed and left the cafeteria, tearing my hand away from Tyler's grasp. I wouldn't let him win that easily. I plugged the earbuds into my phone and began playing "House of Memories" by Panic! At The Disco. I wanted to soak up the lyrics and beat before I was forced to listen to a lecture from the English teacher about diagramming sentences.

As I entered into the gym, mentally preparing myself for torture, a rude person ran into the room, bumping my shoulder lightly as he went. I recognized him as soon as I saw his full head of soft brown hair. He looked back at my recovering figure and winked at me, causing the ends of my lips to lift up into a small smile. He then turned around before I could say anything. I shifted my gaze a little bit to the left and caught Hunter's murderous gaze at Tyler, my smile faltering.I knew them both well enough to say that they're stubborn and wouldn't let me go. They both wanted me, it made me uncomfortable. This definitely isn't going to end well.
Hey guys! I just started listening to BTS and I am already obsessed. If you guys haven't already heard them, then I highly recommend you to do so. I finally figured out how to type chapters on my laptop and it is so much easier than doing it on my phone! Anyways, how'd you like this chapter? Who do you guys root for, Hunter or Tyler? Don't forget to vote and comment! Luv ya!
