Alex
He was about to kiss me I swear. He began to hover over me until his face was just inches away from mine. It wasn't until then that I noticed how nervous he was. He didn't seem to know where to look. He was scared. Still, he closed his eyes and began leaning down very slowly. I closed my eyes too, bracing myself for what I might feel.

I feel his lips on my forehead, and my eyes shoot open. What happened? Did he just decide that he didn't want to kiss me? And if so, why?

Not that I wanted us to kiss. I never really saw Hunter in that way. I still don't. I think that I owe him a chance though. He is letting me stay in his house for free after all.

The doctor suddenly came in with a worried expression on his face. Hunter straightened himself out and glared at the doctor. Instead of returning the glare or saying something, the doctor squirmed. That is, until I cleared my throat, signaling for them to stop being idiots.

"Ms.Everpin, I'm discharging you today. It seems that in your coma, your internal injuries healed at a faster than normal rate. We ran a few tests and everything looks good, I guess you're just a lucky person." He began to walk out.

"Wait!" I wanted to ask him about the huge cast on my arm.

He looked at me with his eyebrows slightly raised, waiting for me to say something.

"What about my arm?" He seemed to understand without me needing to ask anything specific.

"Oh right! I almost forgot, thanks Alex. Your arm suffered a massive trauma and the nerves were fried when you got here. You're lucky that I was able to even save some of the nerves. Anyways, I believe that with some physical therapy, you could get back up to 80% of your arm function back." He stated proudly.

Only 80%? I was no doctor, but I knew that 80% was probably going to be a lot different than 100%, how much function I had before the car crash. Then another thought occurred to me.

"How much arm function do I have right now?"   He started swiping on his tablet, his brows pulled together in concentration.

"Um..." he quickly glanced at Hunter, clearly regretting it, "You have about 5% function of your arm."

Five percent! What would I even be able to do with five percent function? I probably wouldn't be able to even open my hand completely.

I was panicking. I needed my arm. I looked at my hand, the only part of my forearm that was out of the cast. I needed total function of my arm back, not just 80 percent. So I tried to open my hand completely.

Nothing happened. My fingers didn't move a millimeter. I tried again... and again... and again. And nothing.

The doctor must've noticed my struggles because he finally spoke up again. "I wouldn't do that if I were you! You need to take things slow, that might damage your arm further and if that happens I don't know if there's anything else I could do. So, don't. Okay?" I nodded. There was only one outcome that I would accept out of this situation. And that was with as most arm function as I could possibly get. I needed this arm.
