Chapter 9 - Of Course It's Not A Date, Right?

"I have nothing to wear!" I kept harshly whispering to myself. I've never been the type of girl to wear skirts and be comfortable at the same time. Or wear heels all day. It just wasn't me, so of course I only had one dress.

The thing is that I have no idea whether or not this was a date. If it wasn't a date then I wouldn't know and would probably wear a dress and he would be wearing his faded jeans, we wouldn't match. On the other hand, if it was a date and I wore a nice shirt, then he would assume that I wasn't interested. Which wasn't completely true.

I decided to peek inside Hunter's room when I heard the water pouring from his bathroom shower. When I looked inside I didn't see anything at first, then I caught a glimpse of a blue tie hanging on the bathroom doorknob. It was the exact shade as my dress. Midnight blue.

I went back to my room and took the dress from the hanger and held it up to my body while looking in the full length mirror. It fell just above my knees, not short enough to be scandalous but not long enough where I would have to pick it up. I slid on the dress, deciding against tights, instead putting a black cardigan over it that was longer than the dress itself. I slid on some brown ankle boots that had a slight heel and sat on the bed. I needed to minute to process that I was going on a date with Hunter Pilsen. I applied another coat of deodorant and let my hair out of the tight ponytail I had during school before I went downstairs when the clock struck 8, which was the time we said we would meet by the front door.

Hunter:
I'm an idiot. Why did I decide to wear a suit? It not like she's gonna think this is a date, right? She probably thinks that we're gonna celebrate her first day at high school or something. I wish that she would read my mind.

How pathetic can a person be? I looked through her closet and bought a tie that was the same color as her dress so that if she did wear the dress then people would know that she's with me. That sounds really stalkerish.

I started seeing her as more than a friend about a week ago. She was wearing leggings and fuzzy socks while sliding across the wooden floor of the kitchen, making a sandwich. I don't know what it was about that, but it made me look at her as strong rather than breaking, and there was something very attractive about that.

Whoa. She wore the dress. She sort of reminded me of Cinderella when she came down the stairs in her dress, ironically I had a huge crush on Cinderella as a little boy. She stopped when she got to the bottom of the stairs. She was analyzing me, trying to understand my reaction. That was when I realized that I was practically drooling over her.

Her hair wasn't unnaturally curly or straight, but it was wavy and soft. Her dress stopped just above her knees and her cardigan stopped a bit past that, making her appear shorter than she actually was. She had a locket around her neck that I noticed her wearing everyday. Her body was slightly sharp in places, every curve and turn had a purpose. Most girls tried to make their curves more curvy, but I couldn't care less about that right now. I couldn't think about anything but her. Alex. Her lips were tinted a bit more red from her chapstick. They looked fuller, not plump, just naturally bigger.

"Alex" I breathed. I couldn't find anything else to say. I couldn't think of anything other than her name. Partly because I was paralyzed by her beauty and partly because the name sounded so right coming out of my mouth.

"Hunter." She responded, thinking that we were just saying each other's names.

"Alex, where were you hiding before I met you?" And at that, she gave me an innocent smile, making me want to give all of me to her. What was this girl doing to me?

Hey sorry that I haven't been updating these past few days. I've just had a lot of stuff to do, but no excuses. So how did you like the Hunter POV that I FINALLY decided to add in there.
