It's been two days since I got discharged from the hospital with a huge cast on my arm. It was Sunday night, which meant that I had school tomorrow. My second day of school is going to be much different from my first.

Hunter has been taking care of me hand and foot. He looks at me like I'm going to break if I do anything on my own. I think he's expecting me to go into shock.

"Alex, I brought you dinner." He walked in with a smile that immediately brightened up the room. He found me laying down on my bed reading a book. I looked up at him with an apologetic look.

"Oh, sorry I forgot to tell you not to make dinner for me, I'm not hungry. I'm sorry." His face fell a little bit but he recovered quickly. As if seeing him disappointed was enough to break me after everything I've been through.

"Alright." He mumbled just before turning around and leaving the room. He closed me door softly.

After reading for what felt like a few minutes, I checked the time. It read 12:52 am. I quickly turned on my alarm for school, turned off the light and fell asleep, hoping that I wouldn't dream, a habit of mine.

I woke up to the annoying bells that were my alarm. I quickly got out of bed, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, and went straight for the bathroom.

After letting the warm water from the shower relax my tired muscles, I went back to my room and picked out the outfit I had picked out a few nights ago. A plain black tank top, ripped booty shorts, and my ankle high black converse. I dried my hair with my hairdryer until my natural waves were soft and water free. I picked my backpack off the floor and slug it over one shoulder, and made my way downstairs.

I rested the clunky cast that was permanently on my arm for the next few weeks, in front of the bowl of cereal that I assumed was for me. Hunter tore his attention away from the TV and onto me as soon as he heard my chair scrape across the tile floor of the kitchen.

"Hey." Was all he said. I grunted in response, I was too busy eating.

After I finished, I placed the bowl in the sink and followed Hunter outside to his car. We both got in and he started the car and drove us to school. The car ride consisted of small conversations on awkward topics. It was just really, well, awkward. He wasn't bothering to try to conceal how much he wanted to take care of me. He would probably carry me up the stairs if I asked. Hunter parked in front of the school, and got out of the car. He rushed over to my side and held the door open for me, taking my hand. I got out of the car, cheeks flushed from the gesture.

I looked at my schedule to see which classes I had today. We had alternating schedules so that day after tomorrow I would have the same classes as today. My classes today were AP computer science, Geography, study skills, and Algebra 2. I have no idea what to expect today. I hate that feeling.

I found my way to the AP computer science room and could immediately tell that this teacher was terrible at his job.  He wore sweatpants and had stains on his white t-shirt. He also had a lot of food on his desk. All we did the whole period was practice typing.

In geography we studied the placement of all the countries and learned most of the state names. This day was beginning to look pretty easy. I smiled as I walked to study skills because I realized that half of the day was over. The other half couldn't be so bad. Or so I thought.

I walked into the silent classroom that held study skills and immediately went to the teachers desk. I wasn't doing a great job of ignoring the curious stares of my fellow classmates. She took one look at me and pointed to a chair that was on the other side of the room. I assumed that meant that that was my seat and went there. Next to me sat a well built guy, probably in the same grade as me, who was just a bit taller than me. He appeared to be taking notes from a textbook with his nose almost touching the book.

I went and sat next to him. Only after sitting next to him and stealing a glance did I realize that that was Tyler. The same Tyler who publicly flirted with me on my first day. I immediately sat square in my seat and faced forward, not wanting to draw his attention to me. I realized it didn't work when I felt his breath hit my face as he whispered in my ear, "Sorry about the other day, if I didn't flirt with a girl as gorgeous as you, then my reputation would've been ruined."

I looked back at him, trying to confirm what I just heard with a facial expression. He somehow had already went back to his note taking, leaving me with a confused scowl on my face as I slowly turned back to my initial position. A few minutes passed and he spoke again, "What, no comment? Give me something to work with here."

This time when I turned to looked at him, he hadn't moved away from my ear yet, so my face was less than an inch away from his. He began to lean in. It was very slight and very slow, but I caught it. When I thought his lips were just about to gently brush mine, I move my head back. Just as slightly and slowly as he moved his head, but he understood.

"That's alright, princess. I'll wait for you."

And with that the bell rang. I watched him walk out of the classroom, awe struck. What just happened?
