Reflections Change

Everyday,

We look into so many,

mirrors.

Without even realizing it.

We do it subconsciously,

We think the reflection is just us,

Is nothing more than us.

Well,

Behind that mirror,

Holds a secret,

It's what keeps our secrets.

But we never notice,

the darkness behind it.

After all the secrets,

The locked away pain and misery,

Stored behind the glass,

Become's dangerous.

It can never be broken,

For it will bring suffering,

To those that set it free.

A demon resides in it.

Waiting,

Ever so patiently.

Now just imagine that demon free,

And imagine it,

Tearing everything you love away.

Locking you away into an internal hell,

You're no longer happy,

As the demons have taken over.

They've won.

All because you broke the only thing,

That kept your secrets,

And took in your pain and misery,

Shoved stuff it didn't want,

Onto it.

Mistreated,

Used as a place to sulk,

and complain,

and cry.

It is a bathroom,

It see's when you shed blood,

It can see when you fall over unconscious,

from blood loss.

The more hell it goes through,

The more you release when it's free.

I've shown my mirror,

My blood,

My pain,

And my hopes.

He's given me a future to look to.

Even though he doesn't realize it,

The only way the relationship will end...

Is if he ends it himself..

I thought I could when mom said to,

But I couldn't.

I knew what I'd do wrong,

And what I'd lose,

And I'm not ready to lose what I've found.

My mirror,

Will never be shattered.

I won't let the demons free.

I can't.
