Run.
It screams,
Constantly telling me go left,
Other screaming right,
Everything's mixing.
Those lines I once drew,
In the sand,
Are being washed away,
By the merciless ocean.
Wave after wave,
Covering the lines.
Where are you going?
I'd ask afraid.
Somewhere safe.
My mind would reassure me,
But I knew,
How it lied.
Tearing me away from what I love,
Who I am,
What I've cherished.
Every time it told me left,
I'd go right.
Say no.
I'd say yes.
I can only run so far,
Before I tire out.
Eventually,
This race,
Will no longer exist.
I love the people I've met.
I love the salt shaker most of all,
But,
I fear that one day,
This demon holed up inside,
Will be released.
Pills can only do so much,
Before they fail.
