"You're late," said their math teacher.
Alison inwardly sighed. She glanced over and caught Freddy's eyes. 'What?' He mouthed. She shook her head, and looked back up at her teacher. "I'm sorry sir, I got caught up in talking to a teacher," she said. "Where's your pass then?" He asked. Alison frowned slightly, "I didn't get one."
The teacher nodded his head in approval and told her to sit down. She did so, and started taking out her textbook. When she looked back up, there was note on her desk.
'Meet me at the cafeteria after school, we'll talk then.'
-Summer.
Alison looked behind her, and Summer stared at her with a determined look in her eye. Alison turned back around, and continued to write her notes for class down.
[After School]
"Where are you going?"
Alison turned and saw Freddy looking at her suspiciously. "I'm gonna talk to Summer. You can go home if you want, " she said. Freddy bit his lip. He walked towards her and frowned. "Are you sure you want to talk to her alone? You sure you can trust her?" He asked. Alison nodded her head, and grinned up at him. Freddy smiled too. Something he noticed... her smile seemed forced. "I'll see you later!" She said, running towards the cafeteria. Freddy waved as she left. He couldn't help but feel curious. Were they up to something? Were they plotting something grand, perhaps for the gig him, Zach, and Lawrence worked so hard to book? He wasn't so sure. Freddy looked around, making sure Summer nor anyone else from the band were lurking around.
He advanced forward, and ran up the stairs. She stopped once he reached the cafeteria doors. Should he do this? I mean, Alison did make it a bit clear that it was a private conversation. But, now he wasn't so sure anymore as he could hear their voices through the door.
Freddy pressed his ear against it, trying very hard to listen to what they were saying. It was quiet for a moment before he heard Summers voice.
"...have to help! Please!"
"I can't do something like that! It's not right!" Said the second voice.
The second voice he recognized as Alison's. "If you help I'll help with anything, I promise!" Summer pleaded. It was quiet for a moment. Freddy wasn't so sure what they were talking about. Did it have something to do with the band?
Freddy awaited Alison's answer, but what he heard wasn't what he expected.
"What are you up to, Freddy?"
Freddy jumped at the voice that whispered in his ear. Freddy turned, and was face to face with beautiful green eyes. Freddy looked between Kale and the double doors that were separating him from a few answers he awaited.
Freddy sighed. "You scared me Kale," he said. Kale smiled at him. A cute smile, he must admit. "What are you doing here?" Freddy asked.
Kale giggled, "I could ask you the same thing!" Freddy smiled slightly. "I-I was just waiting for Alison to finish talking with her friend. You?" He asked. Kale held up a poster that said, "The World a Deserves Better!!!"
"I'm here giving out information to people who want to join the Environmental Club! Isn't it neat?" She said.
Freddy smiled, a genuine one.
"It's nice. Um, why don't we grab a snack and wait outside till Alison finishes talking. How's that sound?" He asked. Kale blushed slightly. "Sure!"
Freddy grinned and headed off with Kale to a nearby shop.
