-"AVERY!" I shout so she can hear me.

-"What? Jesus!" Avery rushes to the room and asks me, panting.

-"I lost it!" I whine. "I'm sorry."

-"What? Your mind?" She teases.

-"Funny." I roll my eyes. "The necklace. The one you gave me when we first met."

-"How and where did you lose it?" She asks, slightly disappointed.

-"I don't know. I put it in that drawer but it's not there. I was going to put it on, since we're traveling and I want it with me."

-"Are you sure it's not there?"

-"Unless I'm blind! Which I'm not." She scoffs and I punch her arm in response.

-"Emma, come here." She grabs my hand and pulls me into a hug. "We'll find it, don't worry. If it was in this house, it's still in this house."

-"What if I lost it outside but don't remember. Maybe I did lose my mind." We both chuckle.

-"Maybe. After all, 58 years is no joke."

-"Help me find it then, since you're so much younger and probably have a better sight that me." I mock her.

We hear the doorbell ring.

-"Later?" She asks and I nod.

She kisses me in the forehead before walking downstairs to open the door and I follow her.

-"Where's your key?" Avery asks as soon as she open the door and sees our daughter.

-"Wow, mom! Good to see you too." She walks in and gives a quick kiss on Avery's cheek.

-"Emery, baby! My sunshine! My favorite daughter! Welcome home!" I say with an exaggerated smile and enthusiasm, making fun of her need for a big welcome party.

-"Great." She mumbles as I squeeze her into a hug. "You two sure are perfect for each other."

-"We know." We both say in unison and Emery stares at the both of us.

-"Shouldn't you high five after that?" She mocks and we all laugh. "I've lost my keys."

-"I know you're adopted but...Like mother like daughter." Avery scoffs and I shrug.

-"What did you lose?" Emery turns to me as we walk to the kitchen.

-"The necklace." I lower my head.

-"The one mom gave you a century ago?" I nod, ignoring the fact that she just called me old and also Avery's laugh behind me as she pours the coffee. "You'll find it, don't worry."

-"Will you find your keys, or do we need to change the lock?" I ask her.

-"I'll probably find them, but I'll let you know." She smiles. "Anyway, I came here to see if you have everything packed?"

-"Emery, we still have two days." Avery brings the coffees to the table.

-"Have you started at least?"

-"Why do you think she noticed the missing necklace?" Avery points towards me.

-"I started, Emery. Your mother is waiting for tomorrow." I shake my head. "We still have time though. You have better things to worry about. Is everything okay?"

-"Yes. Honestly, that wedding planner was the best choice ever. She understands me so well, that I basically just have to say 'yes' to what she proposes to me. And as far as I know, no hiccups so far." She does a little happy dance without leaving her seat.
