It's Friday, 19th, and I'm at the Loud Bar with my friends, drinking, talking, and dancing. I have a flight to catch tomorrow afternoon, but I'm avoiding to think about that right now.
The bar is full. Every student decided to go out tonight, I guess. I've texted Avery to let her know I'm already here.
I don't know how the band managed to fit all the equipment on that small stage. An electronic piano, a drum set, two guitars, and two microphones occupy almost every inch of it, but the band members found a way to make it work.
They mostly play Spanish songs, but some of those have English parts in it. So far, I've recognized some songs from Enrique Iglesias and Shakira.
I'm near the stage with some of my friends and we're dancing to a song that none of us recognizes, when I feel two arms wrapping around my waist from behind.
-"Why did we have to be such busy people this past two weeks?" Avery speaks directly into my ear, still holding me.
I shiver and turn my head so I could speak to her, not parting for her arms.
-"I've been asking myself the same." I say, now leaving her arms so I could turn and face her.
She quickly said 'hello' to my friends and then grabbed my hand so we could go get some drinks.
-"So...today you're just dancing? No singing? No pretending to sing?" She giggles.
-"All of the above. I know some of these songs. What about you?" I ask her while we grab our beers.
-"You speak Spanish?" She asks, raising her eyebrow. I nod and smile. "Of course, you do...well, I don't, so it's just dancing. Dance with me?"
She extends her free hand and I take it. We get back to the place where my friends are dancing and we join them, not to close so we can dance together without interruptions.
We start dancing, sometimes apart and sometimes close together.
The current song is almost finished and she places her hand firmly but gently on my hip to pull me closer. Her gaze is upon me and she's smiling wickedly. She leans closer and my heart stops. I'm expecting a kiss and my body is frozen. I'm not sure if she noticed it, but as her face is getting closer to mine, she leans into my ear, chuckles, and asks me to translate the next song.
What the f...?! I think.
I laugh at her request and shake my head, but she insists and I end up agreeing to do so. I could agree to anything she asked me right now.
As soon as the next song begins I regret it, though. I start laughing nervously and ask her to wait for the next song. She doesn't understand why I'm nervous, but she's curious about it, so she pouts and begs me to do it.
The song name is Despacito by Luis Fonzi, and it's a Latino hit nowadays. It's a very sensual song and I'm embarrassed to sing it to Avery.
But, as I said before, I could do anything she asked me tonight. I'm not sure if it's the drinks, the fact that I'm leaving tomorrow, or the suppressed feelings. Maybe all three?
I timidly get close to her, bite my lower lip while smiling nervously, and I move behind her. My hands grab her waist and I bury my face on her neck so that my mouth is brushing her ear. I sense her body shaking when I do that, and it gives confidence to keep going.
By now the song is reaching the chorus part and after I clear my throat, I start translating some bits in English.
-"Slowly, I want to breathe your neck slowly. Let me tell you things in your ears, so that you remember when you're not with me." I swallow hard, wondering if I should go on or not.
