Letter Seven

I was surprised when I called you the next day to schedule a second date and you told me no. I had thought that things had gone well despite the fact you had thrown up. I thought I made you laugh enough to warrant a second date.

So when I asked you why, your answer surprised me even more. You told me to call back in a week. If I hadn't lost interest, if you hadn't lost interest, and we both wanted to go on that second date then we would.

I never understood why you said that. I wanted it and I was sure you wanted it too. Why did we have to wait? When I asked, all you did was laugh before hanging up the phone. Two years and six months later I finally understand why you said that.

You wanted to make sure neither one of us was wasting the other's time.

Now, tell me, Tatiana. Did I end up wasting your time after all?
