CHAPTER 3: DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER

THE NEXT MORNING

Jennie wakes up early at 6.30 a.m to prepare breakfast before her grandma did it. She ran towards the kitchen and chopped some vegetables and boil some water. She made kimchi stew and gimbap. It took a long time for her to prepare the dishes.

After finish cooking, she served the food on the table and went to the bathroom to clean herself. She put on a simple outfit and went to her grandma room to wake her up. But her grandma was nowhere to be seen in her bedroom. Jennie scratch her head and went to the kitchen.

“Grandma!!” jennie shouted.

She smiled when she saw her grandma already at the dining table.

“Did my lovely jennie just made breakfast for me?”Mrs.Kim said.

“Ofcourse I did.. I made it just for you~”jennie said then hugged her grandma.

“What’s with all the fuss?” Taehyung said.

He just finished showering and his hair is messy. Later, Mrs.Kim asked all of them to have breakfast together. They ate the breakfast jennie made and Mrs.Kim complimented her granddaughter cooking skill and patted jennie’s head.
Taehyung just eat silently.

Later, Jennie asked her grandma to go out jogging near the neighbourhood.

“Grandma, I’m gonna go out for a quick run, I’ll be back soon..” jennie said.

“No jennie.. it is dangerous for you to went out there alone.. there’s a lot of weird people..” Mrs.Kim said.
Jennie started to frown.

“I’ll go with her” Taehyung suddenly came towards them.

He’s all dressed up with his black sweatshirt and sweatpants.

“are you sure? I thought you’re going to meet your friends today?”Mrs.Kim said.

“No, it’s alright, the plan is cancelled I’ll meet them next time.. it’s been a while since I went out for a run” Taehyung said.

He put on his puma shoes and waiting for jennie to put on her shoes.

“if Taehyung is going with you then I’m okay with it.” Mrs.Kim said.

“Really?” jennie said while raising her eyebrows.

“come on let’s  go!!” Taehyung said.

Jennie quickly put on her shoes and went jogging with Taehyung.
Mrs.Kim just watched both of them leave the house gate and she went inside to get ready and went to her restaurant.

They’ve been jogging for a few minutes and decided to take a rest at the park.

“Why do you even helped me to go jogging?” Jennie said.

Taehyung wipes his sweat at his head with a cloth and sat next to jennie.

“nothing, I just want to go out” Taehyung said.

“can I call you Tae instead of Taehyung?” jennie asked.

“why?” Taehyung asked.

“I like it, it’s easier to pronounce” jennie said.

Taehyung smiled and looked at jennie.

“is that so? Then I’m okay with it”

“what about me? Can I call you nini instead of jennie?” Taehyung asked with a smile.

“Nini? It sounds like a child nickname” jennie said.

“it’s because you are a child..” Taehyung said.

“what? I’m not a child.. I’m already 17 this year” jennie said while pouting.

She looks like a little girl who’s angry right now.

“You’re 17?? I don’t believe you..i’m 17 and I’m more mature than you” Taehyung said.

“No, you’re weirder than I am… you act cold with people and talk nonsense” jennie said.

“okay, let’s make a bet. Who reach home first is a normal person and the person who came last is an alien” Taehyung said and sprinted off leaving jennie.

“Yahh!!! That’s not fair” she got up and followed taehyung.

They both ran with all their energy and gasping for air.

“Arghh!!” jennie screamed.

She hurt her ankle from running too fast. Taehyung heard her screaming and quickly turned back to check on her. She’s on the ground holding her ankle. She’s holding her tears from coming out as it was hurt for her. Taehyung ran towards her.

“Are you alright?”

“I’m obviously not! My ankle hurt so much” jennie said while holding her tears.

Taehyung quickly grabbed her and gave her a piggy back ride. Jennie was shocked by his action and her minds went completely blank.

“You could’ve just said you’re the worst at running.. I would’ve stop the bet and we’ll be home safely” Taehyung said while giving jennie a piggy bag ride to home.

Jennie’s face was completely red as she was embarrassed  when everyone saw her at Taehyung’s back.

“so..the bet is off?”jennie asked.
