CHAPTER 19: MENTOR

Jennie’s pov

As you may know, I was preparing a new song for the idol club. I’ve made some lyrics card for my new song. I really hope that It’ll turn out well. I’ve been looking for some advice from my seniors. The only senior that I’m close is Suho. He’s been helping me to write some song lyrics and it turns out well.

Suho oppa is in his senior year and he’s graduating from high school by the end of this year. He told me that he want to persuade into business just like his father did.

I went to the idol club room to finish writing my songs and he came into the room to check on me.

“How’s going with the song?” he asked.

“it’s good… you’ve been helping me a lot lately… I’m very thankful for that…” I said.

“Hey, it’s okay… I’m used to all of these stuff” he said. He was such a nice guy… kinda remind me of my sister. Hold up! I just got the craziest idea ever!

“Ermm… suho oppa?” I said and he looked at me.

“What is it?” he asked.

“Do you have a girlfriend already?” I asked.

“what? why are you asking such a weird question?” he said as his face starts to turn red.

“I’m curious, how can a nice and good-looking man like you still don’t have a girlfriend?” I said.

“is that a compliment or something else?” he said. I shrugged my shoulders.

“*sigh* fine… I don’t have any gf… you can laugh at me if you want…” he said while looking down. My eyes grew wide. This is it! A potential candidate for my sister!

“I won’t laugh at you… in fact… I’d love to help you get one!” I said while smirking at him.

“You? Find me a gf? Nah… I don’t think so…” he doubted.

“Heyy… trust me suho, I know you won’t regret it!” I said confidently.

“wait… what do you mean? You already knew someone?” he asked.

“yes I did…” I said.

“what does she look like? What kind of person is she?” he asked curiously.

“I thought you weren’t interested…”

“well… I change my mind” he said then I laughed at him.

“don’t worry, when the time is right I’ll make sure you can meet her” I said.

“don’t make me wait for too long… I might lose my interest…” he said.

“Yah… you can’t force love… be more patient please..” I said and he nodded.

Suho’pov

Jennie told me that she know someone that she want me to paired up. But she won’t tell me who’s that person is. Arghh I’m so curious. Calm down suho… if you wait for her, maybe she’s the one. I walked out of the room and went to the hallways. Then, Chanyeol came and grab my shoulder.

“Hyung!” he said while smiling happily.

“Oh, chanyeol…” I said.

“why do you look so stressed out? Did something bad happen?” he asked.

“Nope, I’m just… thinking…” I said.

“Thinking? About what?”

“I’m thinking that maybe I’ll finally change my status from single to taken” I said. Chanyeol was shocked and opened his mouth.

“Yah! You have a gf?!” he said almost screaming.

“hey, slow down… other people might hear it!” I said then punch his elbow.

“I’m sorry… but who’s she? Do I know her?” he asked.

“Actually, I don’t even meet her yet…” I said then chanyeol sighed in disappointment.

“Then what makes you think that you’ll end up  together with her?” he asked.

“Someone is arranging our first meeting” I said.

“Really? That’s nice… I hope it turn out well for you hyung” he said and I just nodded.Then, Rose came towards us.

“Excuse me, but someone from the basketball team is looking for Chanyeol at the basketball courts…” she said shyly. Chanyeol starts smiling widely.

“Really? Thank you Chaeng-ah” he said and rose starts smiling shyly.

“hyung, I’ll meet you up later! Let’s go Rose!” he said then grabbed rose’s hand. That girl’s face is turning red as a tomato right now.

Actually, no one knows what’s up between those two lately. They’ve become close to each other day by day. Soon, I got a text from jennie.

*open text*

Jennie: She’s in. But she won’t be here for the next two weeks. I think she’ll be here when we held our next carnival here at school. Be ready!

She’s coming here? So… she’s not from Seoul? Who is she?

Rose’s pov

I’ve been keeping a big secret from my friends. I didn’t tell anyone that I’m officially dating with Park Chanyeol our school basketball player. We’ve been dating for a few weeks and none of my friends know about this. But, I think Jimin is suspecting both of us because he always came to me and saw me with Chanyeol.

Everytime Chanyeol and I  bumped into him he does not look happy. His smiles disappear as soon as he saw Chanyeol. Why does he do that? Didn’t he already have Seulgi?

I also leave the Dance club and join the cheerleading squad to be near with Chanyeol and supports him when he’s playing. I was happy with him. But something about jimin is bothering me.

Chanyeol grabbed my hand and lead me to the basketball courts. He look surprised.

“yah, do you really have to lie just to be with me?” he said while laughing as soon as he notice that there’s nobody in the basketball courts except for the both of us.

“I have too. If didn’t do that how am I suppose to meet you?” I said while hugging his arms. Then, he looked down to me and stroke my hair.

“Do you really miss me?” he asked then I nodded. Both of us are smiling happily toward each other until we heard footsteps coming near.

I release my hug from his arms quickly and the footsteps become louder.

“Chaeyoung-ah!!!” Jimin shouted. I face palmed myself after I saw him running towards us. Chanyeol looks annoyed and walked away slowly just to make sure jimin didn’t notice him.

“What are you doing here Jimin?” I asked.

“I should be the one who’s asking that question! Quickly! come with me!” he said then grabbed my hands and lead me out of the basketball courts.

I’m worried for Chanyeol. I don’t want him to get hurt seeing me with Jimin right now. But my hearts keeps beating rapidly when he held my hand. What’s wrong with me?

Then, Jimin lead me to the school garden. He was gasping for air for a few seconds then he release my hand from his grip. Why did he do this?

“Chaeyoung-ah, why… why did you leave the dance club so soon?” he asked. He looks sad.

“I’ve left it three days ago, you just found out about it today?” I asked. I’m not trying to hurt his feeling but I don’t want to ruin his relationship with Seulgi.

“I’m sorry… but…. Seulgi didn’t tell me about it and hoseok told me about it… and… and…” he stopped his words for a few seconds and stare at me.

“Chaeyoung-ah, did something bother you? You don’t look like this when I first met you. You’re such a happy girl… but now… you keep avoiding me and treat me coldly…” he said.

I felt bad that he feels like I hate him or something. I didn’t respond and look down cause I don’t want to make any eye-contact.

“chaeyoung-ah…. If there’s something bothering you, you should tell me. is it me that you’re uncomfortable? Do you hate me Rose?” he asked and his voice changed. I look at his face and his eyes became watery.

“Jimin-ah, I’m sorry… I didn’t hate you… I didn’t mean to hurt you” I said.

“if that’s so, why did you avoid me? and why do you look annoyed when you saw me?” he asked. I just remained silent.

“is it… is it because you know that I’m with Seulgi?” he asked. I was shocked a bit and stare into his eyes.

“so it’s true right? It’s because of Seulgi isn’t it?” he asked then smirked. My eyes grew wide.

“No, it’s not Seulgi’s fault!” I said.

“Enough, I know it already… you don’t like seeing me with Seulgi or you don’t like her at all?” he asked.

“what are you talking about? I don’t hate her! I’m respecting her! And by respecting her I’m trying my best not to hurt her feelings!” I said.

“you didn’t want to hurt her feelings? Then what about mine? Do you even know how I feel rose?” he asked. I was speechless. I never thought he would take this seriously.

“you’re saying that you’re avoiding me because Seulgi doesn’t like that? Is that it? Why are you being so nice to her? She’s not even my wife! She can’t control my life! “ he said. he look slightly angry.

“Why did you say that? She’s your gf Jimin…” I said.

“Stop saying that she’s my gf as an excuse…” he said.

“Do you even know my true feelings rose?” he asked.

“your true feelings?” I asked slowly. He look down and stroke his hair back.

“forget about it. It’s probably too late already. I hope you’re happy with him” He said. my eyes grew wide.

“What?” I was confused.

“Chanyeol. I know you’re dating with him secretly. I’m not stupid you know…. I hope he treat you well…” he said then left me alone at the park.

My gaze followed his presence leaving me. Tears starts flowing down on my cheeks after I realise what he really means. I didn’t know that he feels the same way that I did. But what can I do? He’s with Seulgi and I don’t want to ruin it. But at the same time I also wants to be with him. Rose-yah stop being greedy! You already have Chanyeol.
