CHAPTER 11: FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL

It was the 1st day of school in 2014. That means they’re turning 18 this year. Jennie woke up early and rushed to the bathroom to get ready for school. She put on her uniforms and brushed her hair in front of the mirror. She put on some lip balm and hide her necklace under her collar. She ate breakfast with her grandma and went outside to put on her shoes.

Jennie’s pov

I texted rose if she’s already at school. She said that she’s on her way. I ran to the bus station and went inside the bus along with other students that I don’t recognise. I saw Taehyung sat at a seat next to a window. He puts on his earphones and close his eyes. He’s in his own world right now. The seat next him is empty. I rushed to sit next to him but another girl pushed me and sat next to him. She smirked at me when she sat next to him.
What’s wrong with her? I went to another seat at the back and sat there alone. I was a bit disappointed that Tae didn’t notice me. But what can do? I just have to go along with it.  I look outside of the window and just enjoy the ride. My mind is full of thoughts about new people I’m going to meet today. But my first mission is to find Rose and jisoo. They’re my only friend right now. I’ve texted jisoo and rose that I’m on my way and they replied that they’re waiting for me there.

They’re at school already? Well they are quick. Suddenly, I felt a presence sat next to me. I just ignored it and still enjoying the view from outside the window. But then, I felt that person tried to hug me. I startled and was about to curse.

“oh my wtf?!” I screamed. But he put his finger onto my lips. It was Taehyung.

“Calm down it’s me” he said and smiled at me.

“well you scared me” I said while holding my chest.

“why don’t you sit next to me?” he asked.

“are you blind? There’s a girl who’s clearly sat next to you” I was annoyed for a bit.

“but before she’s there the seat was empty. I saw you when you get on the bus” he said. So he saw me. But he didn’t even greet me.

“so you saw me? And you still let the girl to sit next to you?” I questioned him. He looked down.

“I can’t kick her out from the seat. I don’t own this bus” he said.

“Yeah right, whatever” I said then looked outside the window.

“wait… are you jealous? Oh my nini is jealous seeing me with other girl” he said while hugging me.

“Yah stop it! We’re in public right now. People are watching you acting childish ” I said and pushed him slowly to let go off the hug.

“okay, I won’t do it again” he said then smiled at me. That smile makes me fall for him even more. We held each other hands until we reached our school.

He help me to get off the bus and walk with me towards the school gate. My heart was beating so fast. I was nervous to meet everyone at that school. I stopped in front of the gate and took a deep breath.

“are you okay?” Tae asked me.

“yup, let’s do this” I said and took my first step inside the school .

Taehyung escorted me to the office to register. Then we gathered at the school hall for a welcome speech. I heard people talking about me and Taehyung who’s walking side by side.

“who’s that girl? Is she Tae’s new gf? Omg!”

“what? didn’t he like Irene? Well that’s what I heard”

“omg, she’s so pretty. What a lucky girl”

“is she rich? She seems like a rich girl.”

I got separated with Taehyung and he sat with his friends on the other side of the hall. I searched for rose and Jisoo there and bumped into a girl with a long brown hair. She have a really nice long legs. She’s really tall that I have to look up to see her face.

“I’m sorry, I’m trying to find my friends” I said. She doesn’t look like a Korean girl.

“it’s okay, I’m Lalisa Manoban by the way. I’m the new transfer student from Thailand. You can call me Lisa. Nice to meet you” she said and bowed to me. Wow, for a foreigner, her Korean pronunciation was really good.

“Hi, I’m jennie Kim. I’m also a new student here. Nice to meet you” I said then bowed to her.

“Jennie? That’s a unique name” she said.

“come on, the speech going to start soon. Let’s find a seat” she said and grabbed my hand to find a seat.

Wow, this girl is really friendly. I met her just like 2 seconds ago and now she’s holding my hand?

I spotted jisoo for afar and waved my hands. She ran towards us and both of us laughed. She seems funny running around the hall. I can’t imagine a girl like her to argue with a guy.

“oh my you’re here! I’ve been looking everywhere for you!” jisoo said while panting. We just laugh at her.

“hey, calm down and take a deep breath first” I said while patting her back. She took a deep breath and exhale slowly.

“yup, I’m good now” jisoo said. I introduced jisoo with lisa and they bowed to each other.

“jennie-yah!!!” rose shouted from the back. I can see her clearly as she’s the only person who have an orange hair there. She hugged me when she arrived towards us.

“oh my, I feel so loved right now” I said while laughing.

“jennie-yah, you won’t belive that I just found another person who have the same name as I am” rose said excitedly. I raised my eyebrow.

“someone else here named rose?” I asked her. She shook her head.

“no, it chaeyoung. But her full name is Son Chae young. She’s the one who show me around the school” she said proudly.

“well then that’s good for you. Rose-yah, this is jisoo and this is lisa. They’re my new friend. Jisoo and lisa, this is Rose my childhood friend” I introduced them to each other and bowed to each other.

“don’t worry there’s a lot of people here using the same name. Did you know that there’s three people named Eun Bi in this school. It’s so confusing.” Jisoo said while shakes her head.

“Really? Then how are we supposed to call them?” lisa asked she was really surprised.

“Nickname. We call them by nickname. There’s 3 of them, and one of them is my cousin. Kim Eun Bi, please avoid her. She’s the only one who don’t need a nickname. The remaining 2 are Hwang Eun Bi and Jung Eun Bi. Both are the same age as us. But Hwang Eun Bi is called SinB, while Jung Eun BI is called Eunha. I hope that helps you out” jisoo explained.

“wow, you know all of this? How long have you studied here?” rose asked.

“For as long as I can remember. I was the class monitor last year” jisoo said proudly.

“oh my. Then you’re going to show us around the school. We’re all new students here” I said.

“I know you guys are new students. I memorized all of the mutual students here. Don’t worry, I’ll help you out” jisoo said .

“come on! Let’s go to our seat” Lisa shouted with excitement.

All students get to their seats. I sat next to jisoo, while Rose sat next to Lisa. The principal talks for a few minutes and congratulate us for being chosen to this school. I just learned that this is an elite school. Most of them come from a rich family. But I wonder how Tae still afford to go here? Didn’t he said that he’s living alone. Should I ask him? Or just keep quiet?. Maybe I’ll figure it out soon.
Soon, the teacher said that we’re good to leave the hall and head to our class. We went to the school board to check our name and which class are we going to. Surprisingly, all of us is in the same classroom. We’re so happy and ran towards the class room to pick our seats.

At the class, Jisoo opened the door and walk like a boss. Oh my, she’s so 4D.

“I’m back everyone” jisoo said while holding her waist. Everyone in the class cheered for her. There’s a lot of students inside the classroom. I haven’t spot Eun Bi yet. Maybe she’s in the next class.

“Jennie!” someone shouted my name.
