CHAPTER 18: AWARE

Taehyung’s pov

Taeyong presence here is really disturbing for me, jennie and the whole school. They don’t know the truth about that guy. I felt that I should tell them the truth about him but I can’t! because it’ll drag me into jail too. I know I’ve stopped doing that kind of job but… I’ve commit crimes before. Plus, if jennie knows about this… will she still love me?

Few months have passed, I still see him at the hallways while giving him a cold stare. He just look at me and keep walking. I will never forgive anything that he did to jennie before.

I barely hang out with jennie these days. We always have to cancel our math revision together everynight after school. She’s so busy after joining that idol club. I know I joined it too but they gave the girls a lot of opportunities to shine more. And by that, they let them become a model for certain product and do cf.
And me? I just keep focusing on my studies and go along with everything.

I have to admit that I felt lonely when she’s not here with me. But that’s fine. I know she’s busy and I still have my friends to cheer me up.

“Hey, Taehyung-ah!” Jimin called me at the hallways.

“What is it?” I asked.

“Are you free today? I need to ask you a favour.” He said.

“yeah… I think I don’t have any plan for today… what do you want?” I said.

“There’s a new outlet opening at the town, and guess what? they’re looking for a model… a male model!!” he said excitedly.

“So… what does it have to do with me?” I asked.

“Yah, you think I don’t know about you? I know jennie is busy with her schedule…modelling… cf… etc… but hey, I think this is an opportunity for you too! Imagine you become a model just like her! You guys will be top visual couple out there!” he said.

“I’m not sure about this…” I said while rubbing my head.

“Yah! Trust me! this will help you… they’re paying you too! “ he said and hold my shoulder.

“ Fine… I’ll go there… stop touching me…” I said.

“ Now we’re talking! See you after school!” he said then ran off.

“ Why did I sign up for that?” I mumbled. I walk towards the rooftop and looking at the view from up there.

I held the balcony and took a deep breath to calm myself.

“Tae?” a voice called. I turned my back and saw jennie smiling when she saw me. She ran towards me and hugged me tightly.

“I really miss you..” she said while buried her face onto my chest.

“Oh my, do you miss me that much?” I asked then slowly patted her back. I felt happy and relieved after hearing she said that.

“Yes, and what are you doing up here? Class is starting soon…” she looked up to me.

“ I’m just taking a walk to calm myself” I said.

“ are you stressed? Is it because of me?” she said worriedly.

“No, it’s not because of you… Jimin just signed me up for a modelling contract at the new outlet in town. You’re looking at a future model right now..” I said. She look shocked and release her hug from me.

“You’re gonna do modelling job?...” she said.

“yes, what’s wrong? Shouldn’t you be supporting me right now?” I said. She frowned.

“if you’re working… and I’m working… then when are we going to hang out together again?” she asked while looking down. I came closer to her and patted her back.

“don’t worry we’ll figure it out soon” I said . She smiled a bit then look at her watch.

“Oh, Tae.. I have to go now… I have some work to do” she said then left me.

“Okay, see you soon” I said.

After school,

I went to the new outlet in town with Jimin and got interviewed for joining the modelling job. They ask me to put on some outfit and pose to take some picture. They even applied some make up on me. it feels weird because I never wear them.

After a few photo shoot, they ask me to wait for three days for them to make a decision and I agreed. I walked out of the dressing room and Jimin greeted me.

“Hey, you good?” he asked.

“Yeah I’m fine… they ask me to wait for three days for them to make a decision.” I said.

“Don’t worry, I really think that they’ll take you in…” he said.

“Hmph… I hope so…” I said then walked out of the outlet.

We went to several places in town and bought some stuff. Soon, I went straight to my home and not jennie’s home. I was really tired and lay on my bed for a few minutes. I checked my phone and saw a lot of notifications from jennie. I read every text she send to me.
*open inbox*

Jen: Tae? How’s your interview? Did it go well?

Jen: Oppa, where are you right now?

Jen: I’m practicing a new song at the studio with others right now…

Jen: I miss you.

Jen: Call me back when you’re free.

I immediately dialled her number and wait for her to pick it up.

*on phone*

Jen: Oppa?

Tae: Hey jen? I’m sorry I didn’t reply to your text… I was very busy you know…

Jen: it’s okay, I understand… how’s your interview by the way?

Tae: good… they said that they’ll make the decision after three days… it’s a really nice experience for me… it’s my first time doing this kind of thing…

Jen: I really think that they’ll take you in… you’re good-looking man..*giggles*

Tae: What? can you repeat that again? I can’t hear it clearly…

Jen: Which part? I can’t remember…

Tae: stop playing with me…

Jen: I’m not going to say it again… it’s embarrassing…

Jen: if you come here at my house maybe I’ll reconsider it… I’m making some kimchi with grandma soon…

Tae: I’ll be there… wait for me… bye2 nini… we’ll meet in a few minutes..

I quickly grabbed my jacket and sprinted off to the bus station to get to jennie’s home. I bumped into Irene at the bus station and she looked at me.

“Taehyung-ah…” she said. I really don’t have any time to meet her right now.

“Don’t call me that…” I said and look at other direction. Where is the bus right now??

“please… stop acting like that again Taehyung… I already told you that I’m sorry for what I did… we can’t keep being enemy towards each other…” she said.

“it’s easy for you to say… you’ve lied to me and ruined my friendship with Bogum… I can’t even face him as a friend anymore… you’ve ruined it!” I said while staring into her eyes. Her eyes became watery.

“I’m sorry… I don’t know why I did that in the first place… I was a horrible person… I took a bad advice from a bad person…” she said and tears flows down her cheeks. I raised my eyebrows.

“Advice? from who?” I asked.
