December 28, 1991
Me and Dave went downstairs, the wooden stairs creaking as we took our steps. Ginny had made breakfast for us. She sat at the sofa, watching television. A smile appeared on her face when she noticed us.

"Thanks mom." Dave grinned, kissing her cheek. "Thank you so much, ginny." I enthused, giving her a quick hug. "Its no problem, really." We all sat at the table together, eating and talking.

I helped ginny clean dishes. "Julia, you really are something special. I haven't seen David this happy in a long time."

Daves P.O.V
Julia took off her sweatpants and t shirt, changing into jeans and a red tank top. She slipped on a jacket. "Lets go." She smiled and walked downstairs with me.

Were going to jimmys party. I've known jimmy since I was a kid. He's like a brother. Its important to me that Julia meets him. We got into the car. Julia drove. "Im nervous." Julia sighed. I laughed. "Jimmys gonna love you." I said, holding her free hand. She slightly smiled.

We parked at Jimmys and went inside. "Davey!" He roared, rushing towards us. We hugged. "Jimmy, this is Julia. My girlfriend." He grinned, and pulled her into a bear hug. "So your daves girl?" "Yeah." She said, smiling wide.

Julia's P.O.V
Jimmy seems tough, but he's such a softie. He's great. He dragged us around, introducing us to different people. I noticed Dave getting more and more intoxicated. He soon vanished from jimmy and I.

It soon started to feel like I didn't even come here with Dave. I could hear his drunken escapades from the living room jimmy and I were sitting in. "I'm getting him home. It was so nice to meet you." I plastered a fake smile on, hugging him tightly.

He sadly smiled as I ventured into the kitchen. Dave was chugging a can of beer on Jimmys table. God knows how many he's consumed. "Dave!" I called repeatedly. He finally jumped down. "What?" He slurred. "Dave, lets go home. Your wasted." I pulled him outside.

"Why are you such a fuckin buzzkill?" I didn't answer. "I wish you were different. Can you just be another girl?" He didn't have a filter. Things just flew from his mouth, but these words were excruciating.

I blinked my tears away and got into the car with him. "Julia, im gonn-" he then puked out of the window. I winced, driving faster. We arrived home. I held back daves hair as he vomited into the bushes.

I helped him inside. "Be quiet, your moms asleep." I whispered, setting him down on his bed. I pulled the blankets over him. "Julia, lets cuddle." He said, still drunk. I clamped my eyes shut, then simply shook my head.

I woke up, curled up in a tight ball on ginny sofa. I wasn't sleeping with him. I couldn't. My limbs felt sore and uncomfortable. I stood up and dragged myself into the kitchen, greeted by ginny. "Hey hun." She smiled. Her smile wasn't pure. She knew something was wrong.

"Why'd you sleep on the sofa?" I scratched my neck. "Dave um, said some things last night. Just needed some space, I dunno." I muttered. Ginny frowned and led me to the dining room table. "Julia, I'm sorry dear." I weakly smiled.

Daves P.O.V
I woke up in my bed, and by instinct, I reached my arm out for Jules, but she wasn't there. I frowned. Maybe she's just downstairs with my mom. My head was throbbing. I groaned and slowly stood up. The whole room was spinning. I stumbled down stairs. Julia and my mom were sitting at the table, talking softly.

"Hi." I said, kissing Julia's hand. She didn't respond. "Hey mom." She smiled a bit and kissed my cheek. "Everything ok?" "Everything's fine." Julia said immediately. Her response sounded rather cold. "Ok." "I'm gonna take a shower." She mumbled, going upstairs.

I shot my mother a concerned look, then followed Julia. I heard the water running, mixed with soft cries. "Julia?" I called softly. Nothing. I stripped out of my clothes, then stepped in. She had her face in her hands. "Julia, what happened?" She looked at me, amazed. "You don't remember what happened last night, do you?" She said, folding her arms.

I shook my head. She rolled her eyes, then turned off the water, wrapping a towel around her body. I wrapped one around my waist, almost tripping as I sped after her. She sat on my bed. "Babe, what did I do?"

"Don't babe me. Last night, you were drunk off your ass. You abandoned Jimmy and i. You made a fool of yourself, and then you had the fucking audacity to say you wish I were another woman. How do you think I felt as I held your hair back as you puked? I felt shamed." She snapped, pointing her finger at me.

Guilt and sadness washed over me. Before I could speak, she fired at me again. "God Dave, I had to fucking tell you mom why I was sleeping on her couch. She probably thinks that we aren't even serious now. How would you feel?" She shouted, crying. "Julia, I'm so sorry." She didn't respond, but just sat back down on the bed.

"I didn't mean a word I said Jules. You are not a buzzkill, and I love you the way you are. Your so beautiful, inside and out. Id rather be alone for life over being with someone other than you." She keeped her eyes focused to the floor.

"Babe, please forgive me." She sighed. "Dave, don't you ever fucking do that again. You hurt me." I nodded in shame. She wrapped her arms around my waist. I'll never hurt her again.
