Julia's back was tense and sore as it pressed hard against the stiff arm of the hospital chair, her legs in the same condition as they dangled over the other arm. The moon served as a light for her to read each printed word in ber book.

It was late in the night, almost 1 A.M. She was weak with exhaustion, dark bags weighing down her eyes, which were bloodshot, and dialated. She felt high, like Kurt. He was still knocked out, and Julia's once optimistic spirit, had withered into one of sorrow.

She didn't look at,him anymore. It hurt her heart even more, and made her think of life without him, which to say the least, would be dull.

She moved back into a normal position in one fluid movement, her spine now pressed against her chair. Her eyes remained glued to the ink on the yellowing pages of her book.

As she finally got comfortable, a sound emitted that caused her heart to jump.

A pained groan.

Her eyes flicked up, growing wide with shock. She felt like she was about to enter a coma herself.

There he was, groaning slightly in pain, mumbling something unintelligible, his eyes thin slits. She shot up from her chair, energy jolting through her. Her palm instantly hit the help button located above kurts bed. "Kurt.." She breathed, a wet veil of tears blurring her vision.

She brought a hand to his scruffy cheek, stroking it gently with her thumb.

Peace had been restored.

But not for long.
