Julia's eyes were puffy and swollen as she stirred awake. Her head was pounding. Her face was pressed against Dave's shoulder. Light snores slipped past his lips. His head was leaning towards hers.

She snuggled closer to him, her body cold. But he was warm, and made her feel safe in such a horrific time. She wanted to find Kurt, but she genuinely had no clue where to look.

She wanted to cry, but didn't have the energy.

"David?" She said softly, gently shaking him awake. He muttered something unintelligible, before waking up. He sluggishly turned his head to Julia, and simply gazed at her.

She blushed a warm pink. "What?" She asked. He shook his head. "Nothing. How do you feel?" He asked, switching the subject. "Awful." She croaked. He laughed bitterly.

"You and I both."

She sat up, rubbing her eyes, which stung slightly. He followed her actions, and ran a hand through his hair. She slid off her bed, rubbing the side of her face sluggishly.

"Do you want some coffee?" She asked. "Yes please."

He followed her into her kitchen, and sat down in a stool at the island. She made a bee line for the coffee machine. Dave watched her as she prepared the ground coffee beans, his chin resting on the heel of his hand.

His stomach sank at how distraught she was. Of course it wasn't surprising. Dave himself was distressed, and that was gross exaggeration of how he really felt to say the least. But Julia just couldn't catch a break, and that brought a sick feeling to his stomach.

In his eyes, She was a goddess who deserved all the love, happiness, and fortune the world had to offer, but all she got was a heap of loss, sadness, and confusion.

She poured the coffee into two porcelain mugs, and put one in front of him. "Thanks, Julia." He muttered, smiling weakly at her. "Of course."

A blanket of silence fell over the two as they sat across from each other, quietly drinking their coffees. Both parties brains were ticking, killing them from the inside.

But the thoughts they shared, were thoughts of where Kurt was, and if he'd ever come back.

Sorry for these short ass chapters lmao. next chapter will be big, i promise. xo
