B. Loski's Point of View"It's cute." I stated bluntly, looking down at Naomi. She chuckled, shaking her head at me, "What's cute?" She questioned me. I licked my lips, "Everything about you. So damned gorgeous." I said softly. I leaned towards her, our faces inching closer together.
"Bryce!" My mother's voice yelled, as she opened my door. I jumped up from my bed, "What! What is it?"
My father joined her, "Bryce. It's 7:15! You're going to be miss the bus." He scolded me, they both left my room. My heart began to race, 7:15? Fuck! Naomi! I was supposed to meet her so we could watch the sunrise before school. What's wrong with me? How could I forget? I reminded myself all of last night.
I stopped tormenting myself and got up from bed, I quickly got ready quickly. I grabbed my bad and threw it over my shoulders as I ran to the bus stop.
Upon arrival, I realized the bus had just arrived. Jacob laughed, "Loski, man! Running late!" He mocked me. I ran my hand through my hair, "Yeah, man. Slept in late." I said with a chuckle.
"You first." Jacob said, waiting for me to enter the bus. I walked up the steps, shooting the driver a quick smile. I sat down in an empty seat, looking around for Naomi before doing so. Jacob plopped down beside me.
I looked over at him, "Hey. Where's that weird Naomi chick?" I asked him. Weird? She's not weird you idiot. She's unique, different from everyone else. Don't call her weird. Don't be afraid of admitting how you feel about her, you coward.
Jacob shrugged a little, "Don't know man. Why? What's your deal with her?" He asked me. I stuttered a little as I looked for an excuse, "Uh- I meant Sarah. Who the hell is Naomi?" I said with a nervous chuckle.
Jacob shook his head, "Uhm- Taylor's Mom gave them rides today." I nodded a little. Our ride was silent, only little talk.
Upon arrival, I walked to my locker to get my book for my first period. A note fell out of my locker as I opened it. I leaned down and picked it up, opening it slowly.
"I guess I missed you. Don't want this to go to waste. Can't wait for you after school. See you tomorrow though. I hope.
— N.H."The letter had neat, precise writing. I smiled down at it, my heart breaking a little. I knew I had let her down, I knew it. You're such an idiot Bryce Loski. I looked to the shelf on my locker, a small paper bag. I grabbed it, opening it slowly to see a donut, chocolate. My favorite kind. I bit down on my bottom lip, how could she be so kind? And how could I screw her over like that?
"Brycie!" I heard someone squeal my name, I quickly grabbed my book and shut my locker, so nobody would see the note or the gift left for me. I turned around to see Sarah, I smiled a little, "Hey." I said nervously. The bell rang throughout my ears.
She giggled a little, "Wanna get to class?" She asked sweetly, grabbing my hand in her. I looked around, searching for Naomi. I turned back to Sarah and nodded a little, "Yeah. Yeah.. let's go." I spoke lightly, she pulled me behind, walking to our first class.
I sat down in my seat beside Sarah, who was talking to Taylor and her other friends. It was weird, they all seemed like the same exact person? The late bell rung, also known as the, your day in hell as begun. Our math teacher was still on his computer, someone began to handout our notes for the day.
I drifted off, looking out the window that was in the door, wishing I was out. With Naomi maybe. Sitting with her at our secret spot, her head on my chest, my arms wrapped around her, maybe with some sappy love songs playing in the background. The sky turning a purple, pink color as the sun set. It's funny how my dream is based on Naomi. Just like all my other thoughts.
