B. Loski's Point of ViewFinally, the day is here. Homecoming. Holy shit. I'm going to homecoming.. with Naomi, who is basically the girl of my dreams. Which is a little overdramatic, but every bit of it is true.
"Bryce, honey, you look so handsome!" My mother squealed happily, walking into my room. I groaned, "Mom." She smiled a little, "I'm sorry. You're just growing up."
I chuckled, "I know. Pretty weird." I laughed, looking back at myself in the mirror. My mother walked beside me, "You ready for me to take you to Naomi's?" She asked.
I took a deep breathe in, my heart rate picked up and my palms began to heat up. I stared at myself in the mirror as I took a few deep breathes to calm myself. I adjusted my tie and turned to my mom, "Uhm- Yeah. Yeah. I'm ready."
I followed my mom out to the car and we drove to Naomi's house. Time flew by so quickly, quicker than I hoped. I stared out the window, looking at her front door. I'd walked to her front door before, so many times before, why is it so hard now?
I opened the door and walked towards her door, my hand reached slowly up to the door. I lightly knocked and the door immediately opened. There she stood, god, she looks so beautiful I could fall over.
She wore a red dress, one that fell right before her knees. Her hair was down, like usual, and it fell in front of her face. I looked down to notice she was still wearing her high tops. I chuckled a little, looking up so our eyes met, "I like the sneakers."
Naomi laughed a little, "It wouldn't be me without them." I nodded, "I really do like it." I smiled, Naomi's lips curved upwards into a smile as well. I bit down on my lips, "My- uhm- mom wanted to take pictures."
"Oh- okay!" Naomi laughed nervously. I held out my hand, "Madam." Naomi smiled at me, "Well thank you good sir." We walked towards my mom, who was standing outside her car.
She took hundreds of pictures of us before letting us get into the car. I turned to Naomi, "You look good." I mouthed to her. She harshly bit down on her bottom lip before cheekily smiling at me, "You too." She mouthed back.
We quickly arrived at the school and we hopped out of the car, my mom wishing us luck before leaving. I began to walk but noticed Naomi wasn't beside me. I turned around and Naomi stood there, frozen.
I walked back towards her, "Hey you." I spoke softly, stepping in front of her. Naomi looked in front of her, "I can't."
"What?" I questioned her. She turned to me, our eyes meeting, "I can't go. The thought of it is freaking me out. I could have a panic attack right now Bryce." Naomi rambled her breath picking up, "I can't go in there with you. What'll people think? I mean you with me? And I- I look ridiculous! Who am I kidding? Wearing this fucking dress." Tears streamed down her cheeks, which made my heart ache.
I grabbed Naomi's hand in mine, "Hey." I comforted her. I moved closer to her, I rubbed my thumb in circles against her hand. Naomi's eyes stared into mine. I smiled at her, "Listen up Naomi Hanson. You look absolutely stunning. When I saw you tonight I nearly fell over."
Naomi let out a small laugh, turning away from me. "Hey, look at me." I spoke softly, commanding her. Naomi looked back up at me, biting down on her bottom lip. My smile grew, "What will people think of us? You don't give yourself enough credit. You are so out of my league."
"I'm not- I can't go in there Bryce." She stuttered, her eyes still watering. I placed my hand on her cheek, wiping away her tears. My eyes scanned her face. Not enough? She's everything. No pretty? She's so fucking gorgeous.
I leaned down, our faces inching closer together, my lips met hers. Butterflies filled my stomach, my heart raced like 100 miles an hour in my chest.
Naomi pulled away, stopping all the feelings I had and replacing it with embarrassment. Why did I kiss her? What's wrong with me? Why did I think she'd want to kiss me? Holy shit, I'm such an idiot.
Before I could thinking any more negative thoughts, I felt Naomi's lips on mine again. I kissed her back immediately but we pulled away after a few seconds. I smiled down at Naomi, both of us looked like two swooned idiots.
"Well.. that was-" I began, but couldn't finish the sentence. Too many words filled my mind. Amazing, unbelievable. Naomi laughed a little, "Yeah.. it was."
