N. Hanson's Point of View"What're you reading?" Bryce asked, looking down at me, my heart pounding against my chest. I nervously laughed a little, looking up at him, "Are you actually interested? Or are you just finding something to talk about?" I retorted.
He chuckled, his arm around my shoulder moving a little as laughs escaped his lips, "Of course I'm interested!" I licked my lips, "It's Shakespeare."
Bryce furrowed his brows, "Shakespeare? And you understand that shit?" He questioned. I laughed at him, resting my head on him, "Of course I understand it. I wouldn't be reading it otherwise."
"Holy shit you're smarter than I suspected. I mean- I already thought you were a genius.. but.. now you're a super genius."
I looked up at him once more, playfully rolling my eyes. Bryce smiled at me, "You are. Smart. Really smarted."
My lips curved upwards, seeing his smile made me smile. A compliment? He just gave me a compliment. What am I saying? Shut up, don't get ahead of yourself. He doesn't like you Naomi. He's with Sarah. And that's your fault, you idiot. You set yourself up for this. You knew he didn't like you and you made it even worse by sending him to someone else, turning your 0% chance into a negative chance.
"How are things with Sarah?" I asked, not sure if I cared how they were going with them, but caring how he was doing. Bryce shrugged, "They're- they're good." He stated.
I nodded, "I'm happy for you. And I told you so." I said sassily, covering up how much it hurt me to hear he was totally head over heals for her. Bryce bit down on his bottom lip, "You did tell me so, but, I don't want to talk about her. I wanna' talk about you. What's up with you? What classes are you taking this year?"
I sighed, "Uhm.." I trailed off, getting caught in my thoughts for a moment. Did he actually care that much about what was happening with me? Who's ever cared about what the hell I'm doing? Or is he just trying to change the subject? Bryce nudged me a little, "Come on. Don't be afraid to make me feel terrible about himself." I smiled at Bryce.
I bit down on my bottom lip, shaking by head at him, "You do it to yourself asshole." I mocked him. I continued, "AP World, AP Chem, Honors Pre-Cal, AP English, Journalism and Honors French."
Bryce shook his head, "Why do you slum it with me when you could be hanging with the rest of the geniuses?"
"Ha. Ha. Ha." I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes at Bryce, "Very funny Bryce Loski."
"Very funny indeed." Bryce agreed, nodding as he looked down at me, he pulled me closer to him, "Hey! Why don't we hurry and get to our spot, get some homework done and wait for sunset?"
I shrugged a little, "I don't know. What will I tell my Mom?" I asked, my heart racing a little as his eyes met mine. Bryce charmingly smirked a little, "That you went to the library.. duh? It'll be believable since you're basically the reincarnation of Einstein."
"Bite me Loski."
