Chapter 15

It was as if time momentarily stood still and the two of them were the only ones in this world. The male in front of her was more than just handsome. With his tanned skin, refined facial feature and dominant aura, he looked nothing short of a god himself. However, thought of Yerin waiting outside soon brought Sana back to her senses. She hurriedly get back to her feet and apologized to the stranger. But just as Sana was about to dash off, the said male stopped her by blocking the way with his bigger frame.

- "Miss, may I have your full name?" - Seeing Sana's obvious hesitation, his voice took a sterner tone. - "If you refuse to answer, I'll have no choice but to report you for trespassing. I know you don't work here."

As much as Sana wanted to ignore his question, she knew she better answer it lest he decided to act upon his words.

- "Sana. Minaki Sana."

His eyes lit up in sudden recognition, but it easily went without notice because Sana was too busy finding a way to escape. - "Look, I really need to go right now so can you please just let me pass? I promise I didn't mean to cause any trouble."
It took a few seconds but eventually, he stepped aside. Sana muttered a quick thank you before rushing to the back gate to meet Yerin.

Unfortunately, they didn't make it in time and got scolded by Jaehyun. However, he let it slide since it was their first offense.

The morning after that incident, Sana woke up early to help out in the kitchen since it was her turn to serve breakfast. Upon entering the dining room, she was taken aback by the sight of a familiar figure. Sitting right there was the stranger whom she encountered yesterday, casually having a conversation with Jungkook. Despite the uneasy feeling, she tried to act natural, silently hoping that he wouldn't notice her standing in the corner. Too bad, Jungkook just had to ruin it by calling her over for some extra coffee and it was obvious that the guy saw her then, if the amused glint in his eyes was of any indication. He didn't address her directly but Sana couldn't help the anxiousness nibbling at her insides.

- "Is there a reason you didn't come to my party last night?"

That certainly caught Sana's attention. During their ride back, Yerin did mention about it being the celebration for the prince's birthday. If this man regarded it as "his party", could he be...

- "Taehyung, I told you I was busy."

Her suspicion were instantly confirmed.

Yes, the one she bumped into was no other than crown prince Kim Taehyung himself.

- "One of your girls again?"

- "Shut up!" - Jungkook scowled, annoyed at the older's teasing remark. - "None of them is mine."

- "Sure, whatever you say." - Taehyung chuckled, then took a sip of his tea before continuing. - "By the way, something interesting happened yesterday."

Sana visibly tensed. She was aware of the consequences that his words might bring.

- "Hmm?"

- "You know how my parties always attract the ladies, even those uninvited ones?"

Jungkook raised an eyebrow. It's been awhile since someone last had the guts to sneak inside the castle. Not after seeing how severe the punishments were for those who were caught most recently. From what he heard, the foolish girls were mercilessly tortured in jail everyday until their families managed to find a way to bail them out.

- "What did you do to them this time?"

- "Oh nothing. In the end, they got away." - Taehyung smiled, knowing full well that Sana was within earshot. - "But if we meet again, perhaps I'd ask for a payback."
