Chapter 31

- "Minatozaki didn't kill my family, you did." - Jungkook  spoke through gritted teeth. - "Jeon Yoomin, my mom. Wasn't you the one who killed her,  father?"

- "Jeon Yoomin..." - Just saying that name out loud once again was enough to break GD. Right then, his guise as the cold-hearted and powerful ruler of the underworld was no more. GD's eyes were red and voice raw with emotions. - "That stupid..."

- "Don't you dare insult her!" - Jungkook cut him off, seething. - "All these years, you made Somi and I believe that both our parents were dead... You told us that Minatozaki Ryu killed them! Kwon Jiyong, how could you lie to your own children? How could you murder your own wife? You monster!"

- "Monster? You're right, maybe I am." - GD chuckled darkly. - "But do you know who made me become like this? Do you know what Jeon Yoomin did behind my back with that Minatozaki bastard?"

- "No... Shut up..."

- "I loved her. I did everything for her. And how did she repay me? Right, she repaid me by f*cking another man in our own house, that's what she did."

- "You're lying!" - At this point, Jungkook's hand was trembling so bad that the gun fell out of his hand onto the hard cold floor. - "My mom isn't that kind of person!"

- "Am I?" - GD shook his head, voice laced with venom. -  "Have you forgotten? You're the one who told me that you've overheard noises coming from the master bedroom whenever I was out on business trips. Thanks to that, I became suspicious and installed a hidden camera."

Jungkook turned ghostly pale. He remembered it now. Indeed, when he was younger, he once asked GD whether their house was haunted due to those strange sounds which he thought were coming from the ghosts.

- "So technically, I never lied to you, son." - GD laughed bitterly. - "Minatozaki was responsible for everything."

- "Why... why didn't you tell me the truth sooner?" - JK screamed in agony. - "You told me both of my parents died! I thought... I thought..."

GD gazed at Jungkook sadly. Never had he looked so genuinely miserable.

- "Because, Jungkook, your father indeed died along with your mother that night. Actually, you're right. Your mother wasn't at fault. It was that bastard who forced her to. Your mother, she only did it to protect me... But I didn't know this until it was too late... The moment I found out about the affair, rage took over my whole being. Before my brain could function properly, I already..." - GD's vision became blurry upon recalling the painful memory. - "When I realized what had happened, I felt like me myself died too. The only reason I didn't commit suicide was because you and Somi were too young, and the fact that Minatozaki bastard were still out there, living like a king without a care. I didn't tell you the truth because of shame... because after all the horrible things I've done, I'm unworthy of being your father... But as expected, lies wouldn't be able to cover the truth forever. I'm sorry." - He finally fell down onto his knees. -  "Now that you've grown into a man strong enough to stand on your own feet, I can finally rest. So I guess... this is our goodbye."

Smiling at Jungkook one last time, GD took out a knife and stabbed himself in the heart.
