...

- "Are you sure about her being Minatozaki sama's daughter?"

- "Yes."

There were voices, speaking in hushed tones. By then, Sana's had already regained her consciousness, but she decided to stay still. She wanted to know if she could gather any information from these people. Sana knew she was in another place because the bed she was lying on felt smaller and less fluffy than the one in the mansion, not to mention the foreign scent lingering in the air. She figured that there had to be a reason why they kidnapped her. It was rather strange though. Not that many people had the guts nor the skills to trespass GD's territory. Besides, from their conversation, it seemed like they were aware of her real identity as well.

- "By the way, don't you find it weird that GD didn't do anything to her? Speaking of which, how could you run away alone and leave her there to fend for herself you coward? She could have been killed!"

- "I had things planned out, alright? One of GD's men were actually on our side. If Sana was actually in danger, he'd protect her at all cost. Besides, I sent Jeon Jungkook a message..."

- "YOU WHAT?"

- "Shhh quiet down. Don't bother her sleep."

- "Jungkook is indebted to Sana. He wouldn't just stand there and watch her die."

- "That's just your guess right? You can't possibly be serious about trusting that douchebag with her life on the line! Regret and guilt has been eating me up ever since that jerk take her away..."

Sana tensed visibly. Wait, so her kidnappers were...

- "You're awake."

As if to verify her guess, a familiar voice spoke up. Knowing at this point pretending to be asleep would be futile, Sana slowly opened her eyes...

There stood Suga, Jimin, J-hope and two others.

- "You're the one in the secret basement..." - Sana gasped upon recognizing the male who was locked behind the metal bars back in the mansion.

- "The name is Chanyeol, princess." - He chuckled. - "It's nice seeing you again in the outside world."

Sana nodded her greetings, then shifted her attention to the last one in the room.

- "Have we met before?" - Sana observed him carefully.

The moment their gazes met, there was an instant unmistakable connection that couldn't be explained.

- "...Satang."

Sana's eyes widened. Only one person in the world who would call her by that nickname.

When Sana was young, she used to feel lonely. After her mother passed away, her father often busied himself with work. Of course he would still spend time with her on special occasions, but it was mostly just her and the servants inside the huge castle. Kids her age were warned by their parents to be careful around her and to treat her with the utmost respect, so they regarded her as their superior rather than a friend. Little Sana was sad about this, but she wasn't the type to complain so she just let them be.

It was until she met him.

The first time they met, he threw mud at her.

And under the horrified eyes of the others, she laughed wholeheartedly before returning the favor.

It was like a story straight out of fairytale. The princess and the street rat. The noble flower and the lowly rebel. The girl who had everything and the boy who had nothing. Yet despite their backgrounds, they became friends. She taught him how to write and read. He taught her about the real world beyond the guarded walls of her castle.

They were each other's soulmate.

- "I'll come back to play with you tomorrow."

Those were his parting words every single time. Always a promise to return, never a goodbye.

—————

- "You..." - Sana was trembling, overwhelmed by this unexpected reunion. She didn't think she would ever have the chance to see him again but there he was, right in front of her.

- "Yes, me." - He smiled. - "I told you that I'd come back for you, didn't I?"
