Chapter 33

"Knock knock!"

When Sana came to open the door, she assumed it would be either Nayeon or Jeongyeon. After Sana came back to her old apartment, they made it a habit to hang out with her at least once or twice every week.

But instead, Sana was greeted by the sight of a handsome guy with messy hair carrying a bunch of luggages.

- "Jungkook?" - Sana couldn't hide her surprise. She usually saw him at the coffee shop where she worked and sometimes they would chat a little, but he had never come to her house. In fact, how did he even know her address?

- "Hi my... I mean, hi Sana." - Jungkook scratched his head. - "Can I live with you?"

Typical Jungkook. No beat around the bush, just straight to the main point.

- "What?" - Sana blinked in confusion. Did she hear it wrong? Okay, so a lot of things happened between them but still, isn't it a bit too much to ask to live with her on his first visit? They're not even... friends.

- "Can I live with you?" - Jungkook repeated his question and gazed at her full of expectancy. - "I just got kicked out of my old house recently. Apparently that place was reserved for mafia bosses only, so I'm homeless now. If you don't let me in, I'm going to have to sleep outside in the dark cold street tonight."

Sana had to do a double take. She wasn't used to seeing Jungkook in such a pitiful state.

- "Why don't you contact your friends?"

- "None of them is available." - Jungkook shook his head dejectedly. - "Forget it, if you feel uncomfortable, I'll just leave..."

- "Wait..." - Sana sighed. Even though staying with Jungkook might make things awkward, she didn't want to refuse him when he needed help. - "You can come in."

Jungkook's face finally lit up, as Sana opened the door wider to let him bring his luggage inside. In his head, Jungkook was mentally doing a victory dance. His plan actually worked! The truth was, Jungkook sold the mansion and gave half of the money to Somi, then put his half in a bank account. Even though Jungkook still had enough to rent or even buy another mansion if he wanted to, he didn't. Instead, he asked around for Sana's address. Considering how kind Sana was, Jungkook knew she might accept his request. This would be his chance to get closer to Sana.

- "To thank you, I'll cook lunch for us."

- "Um... Are you sure?"

Sana couldn't recall if Jungkook had ever even touch any kitchen gadgets, much less cook. Back in the Kwon mansion, he had professional chefs and maids in charge of preparing every meal for him.

- "Yes. Actually, I'm a good cook!" - Jungkook confidently stated. - "Just wait in the living room. I'll call you when it's ready."

No, actually, he didn't know how to cook... at least not until recently. When Jungkook found out that Jin was an amazing cook, he was determined to learn. There was a saying "the way to a person's heart is through their stomach", so he had to make sure he wouldn't lose to Jin. After some serious training, Jungkook finally got the hang of it and he wouldn't waste an opportunity to show Sana his good side.

- "Okay then. Tell me if you need any help."

After an hour, Jungkook finally finished setting the table. When Sana walked in and saw the result of his work, she couldn't help her surprise.

- "Wow, that looks really delicious!"

Seeing Sana's genuine impressed expression, Jungkook was filled with pride and satisfaction. He felt like all of his hard work and efforts paid off.

- "Malatang is actually my favorite dish!"

- "Really? That's great!" - Jungkook grinned. Of course, he already knew. After all, that's why he decided to master this dish in the first place. - "Let's eat then!"

And so, they began their first meal together in Sana's apartment. The first of many to come.

Without you guys, I wouldn't have been able to finish it. Even though this is the last chapter, it doesn't have to be the end of the story.
