Chapter 25

Even though Jungkook didn't say anything, GD could still tell he was in a very bad mood. Feeling the thick tension, GD calmly took his hand off Sana's shoulder. It seemed like his son had taken a liking to this girl so it'd be best to solve this problem right here, right now.

- "Turtle, take her back to the mansion. Make sure to treat her like a guest of honour." - GD told one of his subordinates who was standing nearby.

- "Milady, this way." - The one called Turtle politely bowed. Sana quickly glanced at Jungkook but he was too busy glaring at GD to notice. Deciding that there was no point in lingering around when it was obvious that these two have something private that they wanted to discuss, Sana decided to follow Turtle.

- "So you care about her more than you do with other girls huh?" - GD spoke up when Sana was out of sight.

In reply, Jungkook simply chuckled.

- "No, you're mistaken. She's just one of those girls. Nothing special."

- "Really?" - GD arched an eyebrow. - "Then why are you here? Wasn't it to rescue her?"

Jungkook shrugged nonchalantly.

- "I heard you were ambushed so I came to help. Too bad the fun was already over by the time I arrived."

- "Ah, I see. I'm glad that you said so because it'll make it easier for me to tell you this." - GD calmly stated. - "Sana is actually a Minatozaki."

- "W..HAT?"

Jungkook felt a flood of mixed of emotions threatened to explode upon hearing what GD's said. That couldn't possibly be! Fate wouldn't play such a cruel joke on him right? Minatozaki... was the one who murdered his parents in cold blood. Back then, Jungkook's hatred was so strong that he made a personal oath to kill every single person with that cursed family name lest he met them. However, karma did the dirty work for him instead. The almighty Minatozaki empire was destroyed overnight by a huge fire. He could still remember how pleased he was when he heard the news.

- "But the report said every member of the Minatozaki household died in that fire!"

Jungkook refused to believe this. Sana couldn't be Minatozaki. Minatozakis were greedy, evil bastards who would do literally anything for money and power no matter how crazy immoral. Sana was kind and honorable. There was no way she would be related to those monsters.

- "Apparently, Minatozaki Ryu used his connections to hide this from everyone. If you don't believe me, do your own investigation." - GD sighed. - "I know this is hard for you, but no matter how much you hate Minatozaki, don't kill Sana. Even though Ryu stabbed me in the back, there's no deny that he helped me become the man I am today. I want to at least repay him for that. Besides, even if she's a Minatozaki, she's innocent..."

- "No Minatozaki is innocent." - Jungkook growled dangerously before turning away and left.

GD looked at the droplets of blood on the floor where Jungkook just stood seconds ago. GD's observant eyes caught the sight of Jungkook's fists clenching so hard that his nails pierced through his skin yet Jungkook didn't seem to notice.

'After all, the desire for revenge still outweighs infatuation.'
