Mugman's POV

As I struggled to remove rubble from the east wing, I was struggling with something else. What have I done? How could I do that? I threatened to shoot my brother. The same brother who always puts his life on the line to keep me safe. The same brother who took care of me when our parents died and Elder Kettle hadn't taken us in yet. The same brother that now hates me. What have I done?
Still, I couldn't just leave. I promised the Devil and King Dice that I'd help them become good guys. And one thing is for sure, I never go back on my word. To me, breaking a promise is worse than death. Cuphead, on the other hand, doesn't understand how much promises mean to me, so when he demanded me to leave, well...you get the picture.
As I rummaged through broken pool tables to find parts of destroyed ceiling, I suddenly felt something strange. I turned around. Nothing. Reluctantly, I went back to my work. That's weird... I could've sworn someone was- I whipped my head around. Nothing. I bit my bottom lip. What in the worlds going-? I quickly looked behind me. I heard something.
"Uh-H-Hello?" I said, nervously as I stood. "Devil? King Dice? Is one of you there?"
No one responded. I was alone.
I swallowed hard. "Okay..."
I went back to my work. Every so often, the feeling kept coming back. It felt like...someone was watching me...

King Dice's POV

"Boss? You in here?" I asked as I walked into his office. It was dark and surprisingly (mostly) in one piece. I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. "Boss?"
No answer.
I chuckled,"Dev, I know it's you. But I don't really think now is the time to be doing this. Maybe later, of course..."
"Dice? Who are you talking to?" I heard the Devil say. "And why are you in my office?"
I suddenly went cold. "D-Dev?"
The feeling crept up my spine, until it was unbearable to ignore. I quickly span around to face my boss, who was staring at me weirdly. Other than him, no one was present.
"Boss? Were you just...t-touching me?" I asked him.
He stared,"No...? I just walked in here and I saw you talking to yourself. Why?"
I felt the color vanish from my face. Or, whatever color I had on my face. The Boss noticed this and stepped closer. He put a hand on my cheek,"Dicey? Is everything okay?"
I shook my head slowly,"I don't think we're alone..."
"What do you mean?"
"I felt someone touching me. I thought it was you!"
"Do you think that Mug-guy did it?" Devil wondered, his mouth turning into a thin line.
"I didn't do it!" We heard Mug say as he came into the room. "I came here to tell you guys that I think someone's following me!"
The Devil and I looked at each other.

"Then... who did it?" I said.

???'s POV

I watched them. Silently, of course. They can't know I'm here.
I need some strings to pull, but I must choose my puppets wisely. I wouldn't dare try to tamper with the Devil. He already knows who I am, and if I tried anything with him, it won't end well. Yet, I have other plans for him. In the meantime, I will choose from my other contestants.
I went into the east wing to watch the youngest of the two. Mugman, such a poor, sweet little thing. He was hardly old enough to remember his parents before they...died. And now, the sweet pea wants to turn the Devil and his lackey into good guys. How cute. He's given up everything for them, and the sad part is, they'll never be good. The child felt my presence and looked around.
"Uh-H-Hello?" He stood up. "Devil? King Dice? Is one of you there?"
When he did not get the answer he sat back down. Which reminds me, I haven't checked on my other puppet.
I fled to the Devil's Office where I saw him. King Dice... that handsome bastard. Extremely powerful, and charming too. Oh, if he was only mine. And he will be soon. I snuck up behind him and held his body close.
He chuckled,"Dev, I know it's you. But I don't really think now is the time to be doing this. Maybe later, of course..."
He thought I was the Devil.
Speaking of him. "Dice? Who are you talking to? And why are you in my office?"
Time to leave, my love, my Dice... I'll see you soon. And I'll see the Devil's head on a stick! Damn him!
I left the room without them noticing, turning back to see Mugman run into the room. Hmm... Mugman. His mind is nibble, sensitive, but, still in tact. Perhaps a certain older brother will be easier to tame in his fragile state.

We will meet again soon.
