Jacks pov (continuation)

I looked up, and Camry was jogging towards me. I stood up quickly and cleared my throat.

"How did this happen?" she asked and touched my cast gently.

"I had a skateboarding accident," I said quickly. "You need to leave. Right now."

"What? Why? I just came to check on you, and you are telling me to leave?" she questioned.

"Please, Camry. I'll explain later," I looked her in the eyes.

She shook her head and walked out the doors. I sat back down and put my head in the hand that didn't have a cast on it. Daniel came back and sat down next to me.

"Okay, I'm back," he said.

Val ended up coming over an hour later after I got back from seeing Jack. Once she got here, we immediately started talking.

"It's upsetting that we didn't meet before," Val laughed.

"I know right. We are such good friends even though we just met," I agreed.

"We definitely will need to hang out more after this," she smiled.

"I agree," I nodded.

We became best friends right away. I was glad that we met. Ever since Jack and I started having some issues, I haven't had anyone to talk to. Now I do.

"So, let's get to the juicy stuff," she laughed. "Do you have a boyfriend?"

"No, I don't. Do you?" I asked.

"Nope. My older brother is very overprotective," she sighed. "He has to meet all of m guy friends, and he always tries to find information on them. It gets very annoying."

"I have a younger sister, so I can't relate," I said. "Plus, she lives with my family in Minnesota."

"Do you ever bug your sister about having a boyfriend?" she asked.

"Sometimes," I shrugged. "She just turned thirteen, so it is still pretty early for her to have a boyfriend."

Val and I talked for quite a few hours, and then we decided to go out for dinner. We chose to go to McDonalds since it was right down the street from my house. After that, she left, and so I went back to my house.

A week later, I was wick of having my cast on. It stopped me from doing so many things. Soon, I would get it taken off, and then I'd be back to normal. I just wished time would go by faster. Camry was still mad at me. Maybe by the time I got my cast off, she'd forget about it? I felt bad not talking to her, but I knew to just give her some space. If I learned anything about Camry, it's that when she's mad, give her some space for a while.

A month went by of Jack and I still not talking. Val and I hung out almost everyday. It was nice being with someone other than Jack. It was a good change, but I also began to miss him. It was weird not seeing him around all the time. I was surprised I hadn't even seen him around. I haven't even looked at his posts on social media.

"You okay?" Val asked.

"Yeah," I put a smile on. "Just thinking."

"Are you sure you're okay?" she gave me a sympathetic look.

"I'm sure," I laughed nervously. "Really. I was just lost in my thoughts. What were you saying again?"

She continued to talk about something, but I couldn't focus long enough to know what it was about. It's not that it wasn't interesting, but my mind kept slipping away to Jack. Maybe it was about time that I saw him.

"Hey, I have to go, but I can meet up again later this week," Val announced. "If you're interested, we can film a video together."

"Of course! That'd be great! Let me know when," I smiled, and then she left.
