Chapter 32

*at the hotel*
Camry's pov

I didn't unpack my suitcase once Val and I got to our room. I just laid on the bed and didn't say anything. I didn't want to talk. I didn't want to text. I didn't want to call anyone. I didn't want to do anything except lay down or go to sleep.

"Cam," Val sighed.

I sniffled and sat up. I wiped a tear that has escaped. This was the worst day ever. I looked at her and pouted.

"You clearly aren't okay," she frowned. "If you don't talk about it, you might explode."

"I don't want to talk about it," I mumbled before letting a few more tears fall.

I didn't even bother to wipe them away this time. My face was raw from wiping so many tears away. My eyes were puffy, and my lips were swollen. I was a mess.

"You don't want to tell me anything?" she asked and sat down on the edge of my bed.

"He told me he loved..." my voice cracked. "I can't believe I actually thought he was serious."

"Whoa," Val whispered.

*11:00 at night*
My phone buzzed, and I rolled over to grab it. I opened it and saw it was a text from him. I looked over at Val to make sure she was asleep, which she was. I quickly got up and gathered my things. I got my suitcase and got in the elevator. I went to the lobby and called an uber. They were there within a few minutes. I got in, and they took me to the airport. I went to the Starbucks that he told me to meet him at.

"Mason!" I yelled as I ran up to him.

He picked me up and spun me around. He set me back down, and I kept hugging him. Finally, we pulled out of the hug. Our plan left in 10 minutes, so we had some time. We sat down on a bench and started talking.

"Why are you wanting to go back to Cali?" he asked me.

"Well..." I took a deep breath. "Jack cheated on me, and I can't be on the same bus as him for another month."

"I'm sorry," he told me.

"It's okay. I should've known," I shook my head. "I just need something to keep my mind off of it."

He looked at me. I smiled before leaning in and kissing him. He could be my distraction. We pulled away, and the lady over the intercom called for our flight. We got on the plane, and I slept then entire way back to Cali.

*landed at the airport*
Mason and I got off the plane around 5:00 in the morning and immediately got an uber to my house. We got there and went inside. We plopped down on the couch and started talking. He really did get my mind off of Jack. I ended up falling asleep on the couch next to Mason.

*11:30 a.m.*
I woke up, and my phone was going off like crazy. Mason was still asleep. I grabbed my phone and unlocked it. I had missed calls from everyone and around 100 or more texts. I rolled my eyes.

Zach: Where are you?
Zach: Hello?
Zach: Why aren't you answering your phone?
Zach: Come on. Pick up.

Daniel: Please answer me.
Daniel: You're scaring me.
Daniel: This isn't funny, Camryn.
Daniel: Where did you go?
Daniel: Oh my god. Answer!
~

Val: Camryn Smith!
Val: I know you did not leave!
Val: Answer your phone!
Val: Don't make me fly back to Cali.
Val: I know you flew back.
Val: Can you answer your phone?
Val: I know you're upset, but please answer.
Val: I just want to know that you're okay.
Val: Please.

Jonah: Val is really worried.
Jonah: We all are. Please answer.
Jonah: You're scaring everyone.
Jonah: Return our calls.

Nothing from Jack. At all. Every other member of the band tried to contact me, but not a word from Jack. He probably wasn't even concerned. I left all of them on read and turned my phone off all the way so it wouldn't distract me. I looked back over to Mason, who had just woken up. He smiled at me. I leaned over and kissed him. Mason and I pretty much just hung out all day and didn't worry about anyone else. We didn't make anything official. I was just cheated on, so he was kinda holding back a little bit. I could tell, but I wasn't going to point it out to him. He did get my mind off of Jack, though. I didn't think about him for the rest of the day, so my plan was working.
