Camry's pov

We walked over to the couch and sat down. I scooted closer to him. We watched whatever was on tv, which was some show that Val had turned on. We weren't really paying attention. Val came out of the shower. Then I went to my room to take one while Daniel took one in the other bathroom. By the time I had finished, Daniel was already in the living room and on the couch. Val was going to sleep in the guest room, and Daniel was going to sleep on the couch. We all watched Glee until it was around 11:30. Val was starting to get tired, and I could tell. She was about to fall asleep in the recliner.

"I'm going to go to sleep," she yawned.

She got up and walked over to me. She helped me up and pulled me into a hug.

"I didn't mean to upset you by what I had said. You know I'm always here for you, and I just want the best for you," she told me.

"I know. That's why you're my best friend," I said.

"Goodnight," she told Daniel and I before going into the guest bedroom and shutting the door.

I sat down, but this time I sat right next to Daniel. He looked down at me, and I gazed into his beautiful blue eyes. You could get lost in them easily.

"I'm sorry about earlier," I apologized. "I really didn't mean to upset you."

"No, it's fine. You're still hurting from... you know who," he said. "I understand."

"Thank you for actually caring about me," I smiled slightly.

"I'll always care about you. No matter what," he reassured me.

He was the sweetest guy I had ever met. How did I never see that? He has always been there for me, even though I had blown him off the first day we had went out together. He didn't let that keep him from caring. I snapped back into reality. We were still looking into each other's eyes. That's when I leaned up and kissed him. It was very slow and sweet. He pulled away.

"I wish you meant that," he smiled sadly.

"Daniel, I wouldn't have done it if I hadn't meant it," I told him.

He shook his head and looked away. I didn't know how to respond. Maybe he was right... Maybe I only did it to distract me from Jack.

"I guess I'm going to try to go to sleep," I sighed as I stood up.

I was about to open my bedroom door, but I turned and looked at Daniel.

"I'm sorry," I said.

"It's okay," he said softly.

I walked in my room and shut the door behind me. I got in my bed and thought about what had just happened. Eventually, I drifted off to sleep.

*the next morning*
I woke up around 8:15 and took a shower. I threw on a darker shade of mint green with light washed shorts. I kept in my diamond studs for my first and second piercings. I did my usual makeup: foundation, concealer, powder, mascara, and eyebrows. I slipped on my Adidas superstars and was done getting ready for the day.

Mason: When are you coming over?
Me: I'm leaving my house now.
Mason: Okay. See you soon.
Me: Yup.
~

I was going to drive to Rye's house, which was where Mason was staying. Rye wasn't going to be home all day, we would have the house to ourselves. I walked into the living room, and Val and Daniel were sitting on the couch.

"You're up early," Val said.

"Yeah. I'm going out for a little bit, but I'll be back later," I told them.

"Where are you going?" Daniel raised an eyebrow.

"Not sure yet. Maybe the mall," I shrugged.

"Please let us know if you need anything. Check in with us every once in a while," Val told me.

"Yes ma'am," I said before walking out of the house and to my car.

I got to Rye's place and knocked on the door. Mason opened the door and quickly pulled me inside, shutting the door behind me. He grabbed me by my waist and pulled me as close to him as possible. We both smiled before he connected our lips. Our lips moved in sync. We pulled away after a few seconds.

"I'm so glad I decided to come back," he smiled.

"Me too," I agreed.

*a few hours later*
Mason and I had hung out all day. Rye wasn't going to be home for another hour, so Mason and I were just cuddling on the couch.

"How are you going to tell your parents that you are moving here?" I asked.

"I'm not that worried about them right now. I'll get to that when the time comes," he replied.

"Do you think they're going to be mad?" I questioned.

"I don't know. Maybe," he shrugged. "That's not going to stop me from moving, though."

"I'm glad," I smiled.

He leaned down and kissed me. That's when the front door opened.

"Hey, Ma-" Rye paused.

Mason and I pulled away and looked at him.

"Camry?" he gave me a confused look.

"Oh, hey, Rye," I told him.

"What are you doing here?" he raised an eyebrow.

"I invited her over," Mason spoke up.

"Oh?" Rye looked at him.

"No, not like that," Mason said quickly.

"Wait, aren't you with Jack?" Rye looked at me.

"No. He isn't a part of my life anymore," I explained.

"Y'all were best friends, though," Rye frowned.

"Yeah, well," I sighed. "Things happen."

"I'm sorry," Rye apologized.

"I better get going. Val is waiting for me," I announced.

Mason and I stood up. I went over and hugged Rye before Mason walked me outside to my car.

"Sorry about him," Mason rubbed the back of his neck.

"It's okay," I laughed.

"I had fun today," he smiled.

"Me too," I agreed. "I really should go, though."

"Text me later?" he asked.

"Yeah," I nodded.

He leaned down and kissed me. My back was against the car door, and his hands gripped my waist. He pulled away slightly.

"I have to go," I laughed.

"Fine," he smiled before letting me go.

I got in my car and drove back to my house.
