Camry's pov
"I will actually hurt you!" I screamed as Jonah started chasing me.
He caught up to me and threw me over his shoulder. I started hitting his back and kicking my legs. That's when I was thrown into the pool. I came up for air, and I flipped my hair back to see Jack right in front of me. I screamed.
"Whoa," he covered his ears.
"You scared me!" I punched his arm before swimming to where I could touch.
I heard the door open and looked over. Val had come outside in her maroon bikini.
"Oh my gosh! That's a cute bikini!" I squealed.
"Thanks!" she smiled and looked down at it.
"Ugh, girls," Jack rolled his eyes.
"I know right," Jonah agreed.
"Ugh, guys," I folded my arms.
"I know right," Val copied Jonah.
Val went to the deep end and dove in. She came up for air, and I started clapping.
"Ten out of ten!" I laughed.
Jack and Jonah laughed as well. I felt someone's hands on my waist, and I jumped. I turned around and saw Jack.
"Why do you think it's funny to scare me?" I asked him.
"Oops," he shrugged before picking me up, so I was sitting on his shoulders.
"How did you do that?" I asked him in disbelief.
"You're really light," he laughed.
I heard Val scream. Jack turned around, and Jonah had Val sitting on his shoulders as well.
"Chicken fight!" Jack and Jonah yelled in unison.
They ran towards each other, and Val and I busted out laughing. Instead of trying to throw each other off, we just grabbed each other's hands.
"You can't make us fight," I laughed.
"Yeah, did you really think we were going to do that?" Val agreed.
Jack, Jonah, Val, and I swam around for a few more hours. I had to go to the bathroom, so I got out and dried off. Once I was decently dry, I went inside and was struck with a gust of cold air. I shivered. I didn't know where the actual bathroom was, so I went to Jack's room and used the bathroom there. I finished and walked out of Jack's room. I ran into someone.
"I'm sorry," I blurted and looked up to be face to face with Daniel.
"It's- ah- it's okay," he stuttered.
I gave a quick smile before walking passed him.
"Wait," he said.
I turned around and looked at him.
"We've never really talked before..." he said.
"Yeah," I breathed.
"I was just wondering if you want to hang out sometime," he bit his lip.
"Yeah," I smiled. "That'd be nice."
I shivered.
"Are you cold?" he asked, about to take off his hoodie.
"It's fine," I stopped him. "I'm wearing a swimsuit. I don't want to get your hoodie wet or anything. Plus, I might go swim for a few more minutes."
"Oh, okay," he nodded. "Do you want to watch a movie tonight?"
"Sure," I nodded. "My place. Be there at eight."
He smiled. I went back down the hall and outside. I ended up just sitting on the edge and not getting back in.
"You okay?" Jack asked, swimming up to me.
"Yeah, I just didn't want to get soaked again since I'm already dry," I explained.
"Okay," he said, hopping out of the pool.
He grabbed his towel and started drying off. I stood up and grabbed my towel, wrapping it around my shoulders.
"It's only," he paused and checked his phone. "Six. What do you want to do?"
"Oh, I need to go home. Daniel wanted to hang out later," I told him.
Jack froze and looked at me.
"Yo- you're going to hang out with Daniel?" he stuttered.
"Is there a problem with that?" I asked.
Jack's pov
"No," I said. "I just didn't expect it."
Ugh! Wasn't it obvious that there was something wrong with that? My best friend is going to hang out with one of my band mates. I shouldn't let her go through with this, but what else was I going to do? I had to let her live her life... even if it meant being crushed.
"Okay," she gave a soft smile.
Camry's pov
Of course I could tell something was wrong.
"Well, I better get my things," I said.
"I'll help take stuff to your car," he insisted.
He followed me inside. He grabbed my bookbag as I slipped my shirt and overalls on over my swimsuit. He walked me to my car. He put my bookbag in the passenger seat and shut the door. I got in the driver's seat and rolled down the window.
"See you later?" Jack asked walking up to the door.
"Definitely," I smiled.
"Text me once you get home," he said as he backed away from the car.
"I will," I reassured him before I drove off.
I got to my house and took a shower. I threw on black leggings and white sweatshirt that said USA on the front. I redid my makeup and cleaned up a little around my house before Daniel came over.
