Jack's pov

What did she just say? I was so confused. I didn't think she'd like me like that. I mean, yeah, we do act like a couple sometimes. And yes, a part of me keeps saying that I like her more than just a best friend. Our whole situation was complicated.

"What do you mean?" I asked cautiously.

She looked up at me, and I couldn't read her expression.

"He's not as much fun," she started. "Whenever I hang out with you, we always have a good time even if it's just watching movies all day."

I couldn't believe I was about to say this...

"Cam, you just hung out with Daniel once, and all you did was watch a movie," I said. "Give him another chance."

I could actually feel my heart aching. She looked me in the eyes. For a second, she seemed confused, but then quickly looked away.

"I guess you're right," she nodded without looking at me again. "I better get going."

She stood up and grabbed her bags. I stood up as well.

"Why are you leaving so soon?" I asked.

"I have to do laundry and clean up around the house some more," she said quickly.

"Oh, okay. I'll see you later," I smiled.

She nodded and gave me slight smile before turning around and walking away.

Camry's pov

I had to get out of there before I said anything else. Why did I ever think that he had feelings for me? He clearly doesn't after hearing what he just said. I threw the bags down in the passenger seat, not caring if they fell over. I drove straight to my house. Once I got home, I tossed the bags on the floor in my room and collapsed on my bed.

"Ugh!" I yelled into a pillow.

Why was I getting so mad about this? Okay... Maybe I had feelings for Jack. At least I know that he doesn't like me like that, so now I can just focus on Daniel. Maybe this was a sign that I should actually give Daniel another shot?

Eventually, I got up from my bed and took the tags off of the clothes I got. I put them in my closet and then went to the bathroom. I checked my makeup, which looked awful ever since I had that little meltdown. I touched it up some, but it still looked slightly rough. I shook my head and decided to go get some food since it was almost 6. I went to Panera. The sun was starting to set as I walked inside. I waited line until it was my turn.

"Hi, how are you today?" the girl asked, she looked about 17.

"I'm good," I smiled and ordered my food.

I paid, and she handed me a cup. I went to the area where you chose your beverage and filled my cup with sweet tea. I sat down and soon got my food. I started eating and enjoying being by myself. Then I went back to my house and spent the rest of the night rewatching Riverdale.

~the next day~

I woke up and had a text from one of my old friends, who I haven't seen in a while.

Lena: Hey. I'm visiting L.A. for a few days, and my friend invited me to a party tonight. Wanna come?

Me: Totally! Do you want to meet up at the mall to find outfits?

Lena: Definitely. Meet me there in an hour.

Me: Great, are you there!

I hopped out of bed and threw on a gray shirt along with light washed ripped jeans. I put on my white converse as well. Then I went to the bathroom and did my makeup: foundation, concealer, mascara, and eyebrows. I went to the kitchen and made myself a bowl of cereal really quick. I checked the time, and I had about 20 minutes until I needed to be at the mall. I finished eating, and then I brushed my teeth. I brushed my hair, and I guessed it was going to be wavy today. I shrugged and just went with it. I grabbed my purse and then texted Lena.

Me: On my way!

Lena: Awesome! I can't wait to see you.

I hopped in my car and drove straight to the mall. I got out and went to the fountains like I normally would.

Me: I'm waiting by the fountains.

Lena: Just got to the mall. Be there in a second.

I turned off my phone and put it in my pocket. I looked around, and soon I spotted Lena. We locked eyes and she ran to me. We hugged and started talking at the same time.

"You look amazing!" she squealed.

"Thanks! You too! I haven't seen you in so long!" I smiled.

"I know right! I've been away for a year!" she said.

"Shall we start shopping?" I asked.

"We shall," she laughed. "It's not casual. We need to find something edgy yet cute."

We went into a few stores. She ended up buying a green and blue sequined, long sleeve dress that cut off just underneath her butt. I told her it was too short, but she didn't believe me. I shrugged. She bought a pair of black heels to go with it. After that, I was still empty handed.

"We need to find you something soon, or we are going to run out of time," she pouted.

"I know. There's not much that's my style. I don't like revealing dresses," I sighed.

"Got it. Longer and less revealing," she nodded.

We walked around the same store, which was huge by the way. We split up and decided to meet by the dressing rooms in 10 minutes. I walked around and stopped to look at a few dresses that caught my eye. I only picked up 2 dresses, though. The 10 minutes were up, and I was waiting by the dressing rooms. Lena walked up with 4 dresses in her hands.

"Holy crap," I laughed.

"I got a few that aren't what you said you liked, but I thought they'd look amazing on you," she said before handing me all the dresses.

I went in a room, and I didn't even know where to start. Finally, I picked one of the dresses that she had picked. This one was similar to the one she had picked out for herself. It was a skin-tight dress covered in dark blue sequins, and it was three-quarter length and cut off a little passed my butt. I didn't hate it, but it was a little short for my liking.

"Yes? No?" I asked as I walked out of the room.

"I like it," she nodded. "We could twin!"

"I don't know... It's a little uncomfortable," I shrugged and pulled it down some.

"Okay, okay, next one," she rushed me.

I went back in and threw on another one she picked out. This one was also skin tight, and it was a dark red. There weren't any straps, and the cut went a little low in the front, but it went down to about my mid-thigh. It wasn't that bad.

"Hmm," I walked out of the dressing room.

"I think you look hot," she laughed.

"Eh... I don't know," I looked down at the dress.

"Next!" Lena yelled a little too loud.

I tried on a dress that I picked out. It was cream colored and had some silver sequins in a design on it. The top of it was like a halter top. It went down to my mid-thigh. I immediately didn't like how it looked.

"Nope," I shook my head as I walked out.

"Yeah, no," Lena said.

I tried the other one I picked out, but I didn't like that one either. I tried on all the other dresses, and there was one more left. I had lost all hope about halfway through the dresses. This last one Lena had picked out. It was a black, lace, off the shoulder dress, which was skin-tight. It was just above mid-thigh. I really liked this dress.

"I think this is it," I smiled.

"Yes!" she squealed. "That's perfect!"

I changed back and then we went to buy the dress. I also found a pair of black heels to go with it. After that, we grabbed some lunch and walked around the mall until it was closer to the time of the party. We stopped by the fountain again.

"Meet me at the party?" Lena asked.

"Of course!" I smiled.

"Great! Text me when you get there," she hugged me.

I hugged back, and then we went our separate ways.
