Ali's P.O.V*

"Hi. I'm Carl." the guy had said. Which, again his name is Carl.

"It's nice to meet you. My name is Ali. It's not a nickname either for like Allison or something but it's actually Ali." I said and he nodded.

"Are you alright? I may not have heard you screaming or anything but I just heard the noises from the struggle and saw you on the ground trying to take a walker down. I knew I had to help out right away." Carl said looking at me.

"Yeah, I'm alright. Thank you." I said.

Then I added, "You saved my life. How can I repay you?"

"You don't. I'm just doing what's right." He said.

"Do you always do what's right?" I asked.

"It's a thing that I was told to do a while ago. Plus, I hate seeing people get away from this world so I always like to help out." He shrugged.

"You seem to have been doing this for a while." I said and he simply nodded.

"Ever since I was 10. I was a kid back then when this started."

"I was the same as well."

"Okay, so I wanna take you somewhere and get to know you better but I gotta ask you a few questions. It's just a way of letting me know that I can trust you. Which I know I will already but I still have to." He said.

"Ask away." I said.

"How many walkers have you killed?" He asked.

"Over 100." I said. That was like the best amount that I can say and I wasn't lying either. I know I had killed a lot while I was on my own for quite some time but then I stumbled across a miracle.

"How many people have you killed?"  He asked.

People?

"I never killed any people." I said. He raised an eyebrow.

"Really?"

"You're the first person I ever saw. I was always on my own and never stumbled across anyone along the way. You're the first person I'm seeing ever." I said with complete truth. I can tell that he was a bit surprised at what he was saying but then he just nodded.

"That's impressive on how you were able to avoid people like that." Carl complimented me.

"I was always trying to find people but my luck always ran out. So I am happy when I say that I am happy to have stumbled across you at this time. I got tired of being lonely." I said.

I sat down next to the tree and Carl came to sit down next to me. For some reason, I felt comfortable with him. Maybe it's because he was the first part of comfort I am ever feeling because I never felt it. I already feel safe and protected.

"I'll take care of you and that's a promise." He said. I smiled to myself. I was hoping he didn't see it.

"So why do you have a bandage around your eye?" I asked. I was curious as to why he had it.

"I had just gotten it recently actually. I was with my dad, and some friends and we were surrounded by walkers. I had to see some of my friends get eaten and then one of the boys, who wasn't really my friend but he was okay, I guess. He was the son and he just lost his brother and mom. I guess he was blaming my dad and I because we didn't do anything and then he shot a gun and it took my eyeball out. So that's why I have the bandage." He explained.

"What was his name?" I asked.

"His name was Ron. He was about the same age as me as well." He said. I just nodded.
