Chapter 8

*Carl's P.O.V*

"What took you guys so long to come home?" I asked my dad as I saw the ground come back to Alexandria.

"The saviors caught up to us. Once we took care of most of them, there were some others that took Carol and Maggie in hostage." Dad explained.

"Well I am glad to see that they are okay. You took care of them right?" I asked.

"Well from what I have heard from Maggie and Carol, they did it themselves which is good."

I just nodded at what he said.

"What about you? What did you do while we were gone?" He asked.

"I was with Ali babysitting Judith. We did a couple of card games which I did beat her at. We just chilled." I shrugged.

"Is she gonna be coming with us once we take care of this once and for all?" He asked and he raised his eyebrow.

"I have talked about this to her one time. I said that I would want her with me so that I can keep an eye on her so that she isn't in danger but also I would want her here as well so she wouldn't get hurt. We need someone taking care of Judith. But I think we all know that if Ali stayed back then something could happen and I don't want to come back knowing that something had happened to her. I don't know how I would live with myself knowing that she wasn't here." I explained.

I was telling the truth.

"What seems more logical?" He asked.

I knew the answer to that question. I hate to admit that.

"I don't wanna say it." I said.

"Yes you can Carl." Dad said.

"It would more logical if she came with us but I am scared that she would be in danger." I said

"I said it before that it's okay to be scared." Dad put his hand on my back.

"I just don't wanna lose her." I looked down at the ground.

"You like her do you?"

"Isn't it obvious?" I asked.

"Okay, I'll tell you this. You do what you think you should do. If you think she should stay back for this one time then she could. If you really want her in your sight then she comes. Think about it." Dad said and I nodded.

"Okay, dad." I smiled.

"I love you Carl."

"I love you too dad." I said.

I walked with him back to where we keep our guns at. We even have someone in charge of all the guns and her name is Olivia.

"Hey Olivia, here's another gun that we were able to find." Dad said and hand her the gun.

"I'll put it with the others." She said while she took it and put it up.

"Do you have anything you have to do?" I asked.

"Just get ready for this because soon enough we will be after these saviors. We are gonna be leaving in a few days. Are you gonna come?" He asked.

"I am pretty sure I am needed for this. I am gonna think about if I want Ali with us. I'll have an answer soon." I said and he smiled.

"Do what you have to do." He said and then walked away.

I watched him walk away and I blew some of my hair out of my face.

I have a lot to think about.
