Chapter 18

*Ali's P.O.V*

"So how are we gonna do this?" I asked Carl as we were in the woods.

We were suppose to be on a run but then you know. We get caught up in other stuff and then end up reading comics in the woods.

"Whatever plan b is." He said.

"How would it be possible to bring in the kingdom. They don't wanna do anything. They prefer to just stay back." I said turning a page in the comic book I was reading.

"We have to try harder." He said.

He wasn't wrong.

"We can try Morgan." I suggested.

"If we're gonna try Morgan, we're gonna have to try really hard. This is something serious."

"I know that." I said.

"But when do we go back to the kingdom to talk to Morgan?" I then asked.

"Tomorrow maybe. Just not right now."

I nodded and continued to do what I was doing.

Carl and I went out on a run because some of the group was somewhere. I don't know what happened to them but I am sure we will find out once they get back. I just hope nothing bad has happened to them.

"How long has the group been gone?" I asked.

"A couple of hours. Who knows when they will be back." Carl said putting his comic book away.

"It could be days."

"Reason why when we go back to Alexandria, we have to protect it and make sure that nothing happens to it. It needs to be safe." Carl said standing up.

I started to stand up as well and then we started to walk.

"Is this how you avoid the world sometimes?" I asked.

"I sometimes just try to forget that the world is like this. I feel normal." Carl admitted.

"Why you say that?"

"Because the community that we live in feels and even sounds normal. I can act like a teenager still without having to worry about anything except surviving. It's different. Especially now that I have you." He said and then turned to me.

"I'm glad to have you, even though we live in a world like this." I smiled.

"I feel the same way. We're gonna survive this world and takeover. You and I are forever babe." He said smiling too.

I swear, I have such a sweet boyfriend.

We were looking at each other and then we were learning in. Our lips had met and we had shared a kiss together.

Even moments like this can be romantic. I love it.

It makes me forget everything that has ever happened.

Then we had to pull away.

You wanna know why?

Because we heard the familiar sounds of walkers. It's time to fight then.

We both looked around and saw that there were some coming in different directions. I didn't hesitate to start shopping.

Neither did Carl.

I had saw one coming close to him and I had shot that one walker before it even thought about biting Carl. I wasn't gonna let it happen.

Not on my watch.

I then turned around and I was tackled to the ground by a walker. This is a repeat from the last time Carl and I had went out on a run.

"CARL." I yelled.
