*Carl's P.O.V*

I decided to go and give Ali a visit. It's been a couple of days since I've seen her.

Because of Dr. Carson's rules, I had to give two days before I saw her which I thought was stupid but hey, I gotta follow it.

I was sitting down in the chair next to her and at the moment she was sleeping.

I took her hand in mine and stroke it lightly.

She looked so peaceful and so perfect. She deserves the world.

I hated knowing what happened to her and I wish I knew that it was going to happen.

But nevertheless, she's okay right now. She looks healthy again. She has a bandage wrapped around her leg after the bullet got taken out.

It was quiet for a minute before I saw her starting to wake up.

She was just having her eyes flutter and then she turned to see me. I can tell that she was happy to see me.

I missed her so much.

"Hey babe." I said.

"Hey. I'm glad you're here." She said.

"I've been wanting to be in here for a while and I'm glad to be  back."

"It's good having you here." She said smiling.

Just seeing her smile would make me smile.

"How's the leg?" I asked.

"It's in pain and sore but that's just the affects after being shot." She shrugged.

"I'm sorry for not protecting you." I said immediately.

"It's not your fault. Both of us didn't know that was gonna happen. It was just something that happened so fast. You don't need to blame yourself." She said.

I didn't even know what to say because I did say before that I did blame myself.  I just feel like it's my fault she's in this hospital bed.

In fact, I wish I was in this hospital bed. She didn't deserve any of this.

"Don't overthink." She said and that made me lose my thoughts.

"I just hate knowing that this happened to you. This wasn't suppose to happen." I said.

"I'm okay now and that's all that matters."

I nodded at what she was saying.

"Is the group back?"

"They came back yesterday but they're too busy doing what they need to do. They know what happened."

"What have you been doing while I have been stuck in this hospital bed?" She asked.

"I just did extra work. They didn't want me to do so much work since they knew that I was gonna be worried about you." I admitted.

"That's sweet of them." She smiled.

"I'm glad that they were able to understand what I was going through."

"How long do you think I have to stay in here?" She asked curious.

"I give it a couple of days. Then you'll be able to leave but you won't be able to go  on a run or anything. You'll need to let the leg heal up and everything." I said being serious.

I'm just being truthful.

"That's the thing. It's gonna suck." She huffed.

"It'll be alright." I said kissing her forehead.
