ELLIE's POV

Upon parking the car, I stepped out of it and then took my things. It was already almost 8 pm. I bit my lower and was silently praying that my mother hasn't arrived home yet. I opened the door and briskly walked towards the stairs, intending to just go directly to my room, when I heard someone calling me.

"Where have you been, young lady?" I slowly turned my head and looked at the person who spoke behind me. It was my mom. She was looking at me with her eyebrows furrowed and her arms were crossed across her chest. She looked like she just arrived home too because she was still wearing her office suit. My heart began beating rapidly.

"H-Hi, mom" I said, trying my best to act normal but I was actually nervous. I was expecting that she wouldn't scold me or reprimand me because she doesn't have any idea of what I did today. I could lie and tell her that I was with my friends and she would surely believe that. But lying to my own mother was the last thing I wanted.

For sure, she won't like it when she learns that I already have a boyfriend though.

I could still remember when she learned that Angela already has a boyfriend. She didn't accept it right away because she wanted for us to concentrate on our studies first. Our father was very strict when it comes to this kind of thing when he was still alive. He often told Angela and me to just focus on our studies first before entertaining suitors because according to him, having a boyfriend while still studying was not good. A boyfriend would just serve as a distraction to our studies and I actually agreed to his opinion that's why I haven't had any boyfriend until now. But now, I realized that sometimes things happen when you least expect it.

I planned on following what our parents wanted but now, that actually didn't happen because Rex came into my life.

Now, even though my mother accepted Angela's boyfriend, she imposed a lot of conditions along with it and honestly, I didn't know if I was ready to tell her about my relationship with Rex yet.

I approached her and kissed her on the cheeks. Her face softened for a second before it turned stoic again. Man, I hate it when she acts this way...

"I just went out with someone this afternoon that's why I came home a little bit late" I swallowed hard. I decided to be honest and tell her everything. For sure, she already has the idea anyway. I was expecting that Henry already told tell her what he saw because Henry was always been loyal to my parents.

"Henry told me that you were with a guy. Is that true?" Thought so...Gosh! This is it...

"Y-Yes" I stammered. Damn it! This is the first time that I felt like this in front of my own mother. I was even laughing at my sister that time when she was having a hard time confessing to her the truth that she already accepted Adrien as her boyfriend months ago.

I thought, it was ridiculous that she was having a hard time telling the truth. I thought it was easy. But now that I'm in this situation, I felt like my tongue went rigid that I couldn't speak properly.
